i Have straight hair which are l'il frizzy..so do i still need to use a straightening balm before i flat iron my hair?

You don't have to. You should always use some sort of heat protector so your hair doesn't fry but straightening balm just makes your hair a bit smoother and easier to straighten. If your hair is kind of straight anyway you could probably get sleek hair without straightening balm

No, straightening balms are meant to temporarily relax curl thus making it easier to blow dry the cuticle straight. Based on what you've said, you don't need one. A thermal protector is a must though!
