I have very poofy hair...thick and wavy! I'm trying to grow my hair out and it keeps poofing out I guess where it's thick and wavy. I really need product recs to help smooth it out. I am at my wits end and don't want to cut it after growing it out for this long. It almost touches my shoulders and I love it when it's longer because it will weigh itself down and curl. I just don't know what to do for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated and would save me a cut!! I just bought some Joico K-Pak S&C yesterday hoping that will work, but I'm open to any suggestions!

I have really thick fluffy hair and I sometimes use L'Oreal Elvive Anti Frizz Serum. Although my hair isn't really frizzy it helps smooth it down because my hair is a pain and without hair products always sticks up in allsorts of funny directions.

You could also try using a special shampoo and conditioner for thick wavy hair which could help.

I use a leave in conditioner to keep my hair easy to manage (The Australian miracle hair ones are really good) and before I dry or straighten my hair I use a heat defense spray that also leaves your hair smoother.

Straightening balms are good too.

Hope I helped

I agree that using a serum both before and after stying will help. It sounds like you just have too much volume in your hair. Getting your hair texturized and layered - without losing any length - is probably the best way to manage thick poufy hair.

Thanks so much for the replies. My hair is actually layered at least on one side. I think it is uneven. I have been going to a stylist because she is related, but I think I'm really going to have to get a new stylist. I have some L'oreal Vive anti frizz serum, Biosilk therapy, fekkai glossing cream, and Paul mitchell super skinny serum. I bought some Matrix Sleek look s&c, but don't care for it. I am thinking of getting some PM Super skinny s&c to try out along with the serum to see if that helps any. What do you all think about Joico K-Pak S&C?

My honey child products are fantastic, and another hair product that is fantastic is"WEN" Hair care products, there shipments are fast too.
