Hi ladies! I really need some advice!

So a little info about me - I'm 25, i've had acne for as long as I can remember and I still get break outs here and there. All the acne over the years have left me with large pores/acne marks/and scars. My girlfriends had amazing results with peels and I thought why not?! I'd give it a go as well.

Sacylic 35% made me break out horribly - my skin did not like this one bit. I got bumps everywhere, little little whiteheads that kept me inside the house being a hermit for about 2 weeks until it cleared up.

Glycolic 35% gave me a small break out as well, it wasn't as bad as sacylic but it didn't really give me any improvments.

TCA 20% - . It gave me cystic acne and it scared me to do it again.

I'm wondering if anyone had any advice or a similar experience? If it's normal to break out, and I must do it a few times? Or if i should just stay away all together? Thanks so much everyone!

You're not alone! I've seen this happen multiple times where people go running and vow to never put a chemical on their face again.

After a chemical peel, your skin is purging toxins. It could take a few treatments to notice results depending on how congested your pores are. As you start to get them regularly, you're less likely to see breakouts. When it comes to skin, it's normal for things to get worse before they get better as it's going through the purging process of removing built up oil/dirt/dead skin cells. It's just one of those annoying processes you have to go through to get the results you want.

I would suggest you try a pumpkin peel as well. People with sensitive skin and acne benefit from pumpkin peel's because they are less intrusive than glycolic, salicylic, etc... It's full of beta carotene and vitamin A, which help to stimulate circulation and promote healing.

Good luck :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />!

As Meg said, try a pumpkin peel. As a general rule if it is not a very serious medical problem, or something that can degenerate in such things I try first the natural way
