Well, I have an oily skin and some acne scars ...So i was wondering, since ANY mosturizer makes me: a) more oily. B) clogged up... is it good to skip moisturizer and just apply sunscreen [kinda what I do now] and at night I just apply skin sucess scar fader [also my current beauty thingy....]...I dont know..Is that bad?..the whole skipping moisturizer thing.

I don't know, I have very oily skin and my dermatologist told me I didn't need moisturizer unless my acne medicine dried out my skin. However, other people insist that oily skin also needs moisturizer, because if you don't use moisturizer, your skin will produce more oil to make up for the lack of moisture! I just started using moisturizer a year or so ago, and honestly I don't see a difference either way.

However, you might be interested in this thread for a moisturizer that might work well for you: https://forum.makeuptalk.com/sho...29+%21%21.html

IMHO, I think moisturizer is a must to keep your face from dryness. Since you have oily skin, try using something that is sheer and not too heavy for your face.

My skin is soooo oily but if I use cleanser without applying moisturiser after that, my skin will become flaky. I use oil free and anti shine moisturiser.

I use moisturizer regardless as to the condition my skin is in. Even oil-control lotions make you more oily and clogged up? Have you tried to also use an oil controlling cleanser? That may help too. There are sunscreens which double as moisturizers, so I would think it's possible to skip the moisturizer step and use a sunscreen instead.

I don't believe in moisturizers for oily skin. It makes no sense that I spend all this money on oil eliminating products, and then moisturize? I too, use a fade cream for uneven skin tone at night, (Oily skin formula Ambi) but I can only use that in the winter. In summer it makes me too greasy. Less is more when you are oily. I use a powder foundation applied with a wet sponge and get great coverage in this heat..

No it's not bad at all. Skip moisturizer when you using sunscreen to avoid using too much product on your skin. I found myself rarely use moisturizer in summer since I use sunscreen lot when I go out. But, I use moisturizer with at least SPF 15 along with the anti oxidant properties at home since I'm going to be in a room with AC a lot.

At night, I just use a my EL advance night treatment without moisturizer.

So I use only light moisturizer with SPF 15 on a day time when I'm at home.

Biore has a shine control moisturizer.I really like

I never use moisturizer on my oily oily skin. My skin never gets dry unless I have a zit that I've been working really hard on drying up or something - or if I'm blowing my nose too much in the winter lol.

Ooo switch to skin success for oily skin..Its not greasy, I promise and In the day time, just stick to sunscreen..The sunscreen i use now gives me a powdery finish and It was incredibly cheap. 2.99 I believe...::shrugs::...

Oil Control moisturizers, there are tons of them. Drugstores have them - Clean & Clear & Biore have one. And then there are plenty of more expensive ones.

Moisturizer should still be used even if you have oily skin, you just need to get one designed for your skintype is all. It helps makeup go on sooo much smoother.

I'm 19 and I've never worn moisturizer 'till this year, because I've always had overly VERY oily skin, so most moisturizers broke me out and made my skin even more oilier. Anyways, my derm prescribed me a moisturizer and I love it, my skin is not as oily as it used to be and it helps out with the break outs too.

I have oily skin and i apply oil free moisturiser after i wash my face becuase i don't want my skin to have a "panic attack" becuase it's dry, otherwise it might end up producing/have an outbreak of even MORE sebum than i had before washing my face...

I have oily skin and I don't use a moisturizer. I used to, but it seems like it just made my skin more oily and prone to breakouts. I just use a dab when I have dry patches from acne medications. I don't think that it is necessary to wear moisturizer, even though everywhere I read it says you're supposed to!

You really should try to use a moisturizer. Try the Balancing Skin Complex 30ml.

It Regulates sebum over production whic is the cause of oily skin. It also balances the dry and oily areas of your skin and doesn't clog your pores or cause any breakouts. I think you would be pleased with the results.

i have oily skin ( very oily) but i use a moisturizing SPF- kill 2 birds with one stone!!

my skin gets real dry from some medication, and at that point i might add cetaphil moisturizer....

How long do oil control products work?? is it something you have to reapply during the day to get its full effect?? what if you wear make up?
