My hair is frizzy and has been since I was like 13. It's also curly, and very thick. I have tried every frizz-fighting product on the market and NOTHING seems to make a difference. The only thing that seems to slightly help is after I shampoo and condition my hair in the shower, I get the excess water out and then apply a little of my conditioner and leave it in. It seems to coat the hair just enough to help it not frizz quite as bad. It just seems that there would be something I could do!! I wear my hair curly sometimes, and it has to be almost "crunchy" so that it won't frizz. Any suggestions?? I'm desperate here!

have you ever tried straightening it? i had the same problem and a flat iron solved all of that!

Yeah, I used to straighten my hair all the time with my CHI flatiron, but then my hair started getting really damaged and breaking off so I had to stop using so much. I was also using a heat protector, but it still caused it to break. I would just give anything to be able to wash my hair and the put it in a ponytail and go or something!! LOL Of course when I take the time to fix it, it looks ok, but sometimes I just don't have the time to spend an hour on it. Is there anything you can have done to your hair to help with frizz? I have always heard that it's b/c my hair is porous, but isn't there something to fill in all the "holes" and make it solid like a regular person's hair?!? LOL (Maybe that's a complete stupid question, though!! lol)

i would mix leave in conditioner w/ a gel. i have thick ,curly hair too and that helps me alot. also, i don't rinse out the conditioner completely from my hair when i'm in the shower. that helps me too

Have you heard of the book 'Curly Girl' By Lorraine Massey? Its supposed to be really good with lots of tips on how to combat frizz. I haven't bought it yet so I guess I can't really vouch for it but I intend to buy it soon. She has a theory that shampoos ruin your hair if its curly and you should only wash it with conditioner. I used to straighten my hair every day but It was totally ruining it. I've started letting it dry naturally and it's really helped. Myabe your hair just needs a break? Anyway hope this helps somewhat.

I have hair similar to yours and I use to products on my hair when I want it to be curly but not frizzy. I use CurlySexyHair Curl Enhancer and/or Dove's Mousse. Both products give my curls the definition and control that they need.

Thanks you guys!!! I will try the tips you all gave me and hopefully I will be able to find some sort of control for my hair!! lol I will also see if I can find that book that Laura was talking about. Maybe it will also have a few tips in it that I can use. Also, the idea about mixing leave-in conditioner with a little bit of gel sounds like a great idea!! I might try that in the morning. Thanks girls!!

I've had great luck using Marc Anthony's Curl Defining Lotion and Curl Booster Spray.

i use slick line extreme frizz control cream, i think only sally`s beauty supply sells it for like 6.49 or something its in a orange tube ,it has shea butter in it and that helps frizz, its a generic form of sleek look from matrix, but i think the sallys verison works alot better than matrix, hope this helps

hey, i had a similar problem to you since my hair was SO thick. I use Paul Mitchell's skinny serum to control it. I put some on when the hairs slightly damp and blowdry/ let it dry naturally then put a little more on after. Smells great and a bottle of it lasts months.

well it seems to me that everything that you were doing is good, the conditionig part, after you condition (I recommend a moisterizing conditioner) put a little frizz ease on your hair make sure you distribute through out, and then take your hair and ponytail it lightly or put it in one big braid and let it dry and when going to bed you have to make sure you wrap it up in a scarf or braid and then wrap in a scarf

I have frizzy hair as well. I have learned that the longer it is (rather than in layers),

the easier it is to manage. I use Pantene Restoratives conditioner - really emoliant, and Got2b Glossy hair serum when hair is still wet. In the summer, I put in two more leave in products.

I usually blow dry my bangs and put the rest of my hair in a ponytail to dry. I always have my hair in a pony tail or braid while sleeping. And I only wash my hair every 3-4 days. I flat iron on special occasions as it damages my hair - which only adds to the frizz. Best of luck.
