Hello all.

I just finished reading a great new skin care book. It is called the Skin Type Solution by Dr Leslie Baumann. It gives you a quiz regarding your skin type (not the typical dry, combo, oily, normal types) and recommends products for your type.

According to the quiz, I am DSNT which is Dry, Sensitive, Non-Pigmented, and Tight. I was really surprised that my skin was in the dry category. I usually have shine on my skin. Maybe it is from products too harsh for my skin.

Anyway, I highly recommend it.

Mary

Hmmm....sounds very interesting. To be honest, I think I remember seeing this book at Farm Fresh last night. I think I might actually check it out.

OMG, I just bought this book and I love love love it:) I thought the test to see what type of skin you have would be super complicated, but it was the simplest thing to answer. And I finally figured out what skin type I have....woo hoo!!! Apparently, I have DSNW (dry, sensitive, non-pigmented, wrinkled). And there were so many things I was doing wrong before, which really explained my problems....Anyhoo, I highly recommend this book too:clap:clap:clap

You should totally check it out, Marisol. It's the best skin care book I've read soo far. She has product recs for all price ranges too:)

Oh My Goodness! What A Coincidence. I Just Bought This Book In Bj Yesterday!!!! I Love Reading Skincare Books. This Book Only Cost 14.99.

I love this book. I'm a DSPW type (dry, sensitive, pigmented and wrinkled) and I was doing so many things wrong like scrubs and peels and I wondered why my face was red and inflamed all the time! hahaha I'm so glad I got this wonderful book!

Hey azurestar,

I just took the test and i found out that i am a (oily, resistant, pigmented, wrinkled). All along i thought i am a combination skin type. But after this test i found out that am oily skin type. No wonder all those combination skin care product i've been using doesnt help with the oiliness on my face. I'm going to have to change my whole skincare regime now. I'm glad i bought this book. It really helps a lot. Most of the products they recommend in this book is fairly cheap. I'm gonna try it and let u guys know what products i've been trying.

is this book available at Barnes and Noble?? i am checkin Amazon and can't find it... i def want to check it out!

thanks

I bought this book at Barnes and Noble last week...it explains alot of problems people typically have when they use the wrong products for their face...definitely one of my favorite skincare books now:)

i will have to look for this book...has anyone here read future face by dr. gross? its a good read and helps with us ladies with more mature skin to know what is out there to help us not get wrinkles...

I've heard so many raves about this book (at another site). I keep picking it up, but always seem to put it back. Maybe I'll purchase it on-line.

there is a thread somewhere that talks about dr. baumann. i just saw it yesterday. i think leony posted it and it was a great article!

hmm interesting book, im too cheap to buy it, im just borrowing from my nearest library =D

I was just wondering if anyone had purchased the book, discovered their skin type and then used the products it reccommends? Did you notice a big difference? Has it helped? After years of spending my money on anything and everything to help my skin I'm still looking for something that will actually work. Thanks in advance for any replies.

update: okay I saw it in a shop today and just went ahead and bought it so I guess I'll anser my own question lol, I'm not sure if I answered the questions correctly though as I got only slightly oily which is apparently 'ideal' but I always thought my face was really oily maybe I've been usuing products that are too harsh which make me produce extra oil?
