Well, first things first--- you're using the wrong type of product for your skin type.
I hope you're just exaggerating on the amount you wash your face daily.

I've never liked or had good experiences with Neutrogena brand makeup. Even the clear skin/acne control formulas gave me more breakouts instead of helping them. I also had what you described-the orange oxidation throughout the day.
I've struggled with extremely sensitive skin since I was a baby. It sucks, and even now I get hormonal flare ups that affect my facial skin the most. It gets tight and dry, and my nose area gets kind of oily, and then it goes normal...Depending on the products it gets better or worse. Now my face decided to get a small outbreak of psoriasis by my nose, and the redness from that is very hard to hide..I look like I have raw red skin from a snotty nose in the winter like kids get, LOL. I completely hear you on the redness you want to hide!
Anyways.. my suggestions are to take it easy for a while. Don't use any cleansers/scrubs/peels etc for oily skin. Try a moisturizing gel cleanser once a day (to remove makeup), and then try a gel based moisturizer. Even with oily skin, you need to moisturize. Also try a facial spray with rose in it for the morning. It helps hydrate the skin and rose helps with scars/redness etc, just make sure it doesn't have artificial coloring in it (the Josie Maran one does and it doesn't work well).. Jurlique and Fresh brands are both good (my husband likes the Fresh brand, I like the Jurlique-it smells more girly lol).
I don't know your budget, but my favorite cleansers are Nuxe makeup melting gel cleanser and REN rose cleansing balm. Both are really gentle and clean all makeup, dirt, gunk off without stripping your skin or making it oily/breakout. The Nuxe has a honey based formula, which is great for healing breakouts and is a natural antibacterial and hydrator. The REN is in a tub and you rub it in your skin while dry, then use a cloth (muslin or wash cloth) to add water to the skin and help remove all the crud on the face while you wash the balm off.
There are lots of gel based moisturizers, both drugstore and high end. Another good moisturizer that also helps get rid of scars over time is a bio retinoid based one, REN makes a good one, also their bio retinoid oil is good too.
For the redness you don't like... have you tried any products other than makeup for it? (like skin care) REN makes a good day moisturizer that isn't oily, hydra calm. It has a redness reducer in it, and it helps keep the skin calm throughout the day. I've also had good luck with the Urban Decay B6 prep spray for face. It helps reduce redness too, keeps the oils at bay, and helps your skin stay refreshed. Keeps makeup on longer too.
It is important to pay close special attention to skin care. Gender aside, no makeup will do what you want it to do if you don't take care of the skin beneath it.
For makeup... have you been color matched to a product designed to hide scars? Like Dermablend etc? If you can find the right color for you, it really does hide anything and last all day. There is also the Kat Von D lock it tattoo foundation. It is very thick, almost like stage makeup. Just a pea size amount dabbed on with a damp sponge really hides redness and scars! I have this, it is amazing. I hate looking like I have a thick mask of foundation on, and this is great even when sheered out, and it doesn't need tending to throughout the day.
And as silly as I know it sounds, you are your own worst critic! No matter how bad you think it looks, nobody else really notices as much as you do.

This is something I've personally struggled with accepting my entire childhood and adulthood. You're worried about your redness/scars etc, and the people looking at you are just as worried you don't notice their "flaws" ...humans are vain creatures, LOL.
