Hello eveyone,

I'd like to switch to natural skin care products. What does everyone use and why. Where do you buy them from? I don't even know what to look for or not to look for in ingredients. I really don't want to spend a fortune, but realize to get decent product I'll have to spend a little more.

Thanks

Kris

Shellie,

Thanks for your post. I will have to check these products out. I should mention that I am 53. Trying to not look older by the day :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

vit. e oil

emu oil

and if this counts: bath and body works pure simplicity line.

Dirt cheap natural skincare that I use and would recommend:

Oil cleansing method

Sugar or baking soda mixed in with the above as a scrub

Olive oil, or emu oil as a moisturiser

And others:

camellia oil

Liz Earle (the most beautiful smelling skincare line ever, and her stuff is always getting awards and fantastic reviews)

Stuff with essential oils (I use Rosehip oil and peach kernel oil a lot as a base to make moisturisers, body oils etc)

Decleor

and btw rosehip oil is supposed to be great for the mature face.. if you are into aromatherapy you could also try some essential oils mixed in with this, like rose, neroli or frankincense...

I use Eminence because that's one of the lines they carry at the spa I work at. It's 100% natural and made in Hungary. They take out all water content (it has a thicker consistency) so that you can adjust the amount of water to add that is good for your skin. It's a tad pricey but since there is no water, it lasts for ages. Most skin care products contain anywhere from 85%-95% water, which only leaves a small amount for the actual skin care ingredients.

Another thing I'd recommend is a Dead Sea scrub. They took the salts from the dead sea which contain all kinds of great nutrients and minerals and made it into a body scrub. Once you scrubbed it all over and rinse yourself off, essential oild coat your skin and you don't need to use lotion. It's amazing and your skin feels baby soft. I adore it!!!!

You can buy a lot of natural skin care lines everywhere. If you have a health/natural store check them out. I buy most of my products from drugstore.com

Thought you might wanna check out Miessence I too have made the decision to gradually switch from the conventional skin and personal care products. I just received samples of miessence line of products.....they are awesome and smells fresh not like the regular products. Also Miessence is the World's first Certified Organic Skin Care Company. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i like dermalogica but i don't know if they are organic...

all their products are non-comedongenic and contains no lanolin, no mineral oil, no artificial colors or fragrance, no alcohol, does not test on animals, recyclable containers.

i get my dermalogica supplies here: whatgreatskin.com

I know a friend of mine that uses natural product...There is one that I know who is a formulator and her name is Jovita Fraser-mackie. You can type her name online and I think her website will just appear on the search engine result. What's amazing was when I talked to her shejust came back from Japan and knowing Japanese if you made them believe in your product they'll go crazy and will be one of your loyal buyer. I used her Papayer Enzym and mixed it with my food. It balances my metabolism and helps me detoxify my body. I know she got a skin care line. Look for her online and you'll for sure like her product. She dosent entertain alot of people unless its referral so if you happen to find her online or her number just call her or email her and Just mention that you're referred by Maria from Sacramento

Jojoba oil, emu oil, tea tree oil, I love Weleda's Baby Calendula cream, Jason organics, Kiss My Face, Alba Botanica, Desert Essence to name a few.

Hi,

I heard some really great things about Aubrey's Organics.

Dermalogica, while a great skincare line isn't natural.
