Name changes are always confusing and never work out well, in my experience.

Ipsy is too close to tipsy or hipster for ipster. I can't fathom the reasoning for the name change, but whatever. I don't generally run around telling people I'm a glammie, so I likely won't notice too much. It also reminds me of this one time I took a test behind someone in a large lecture class who seemingly had some sort of tourettes and kept exclaiming "ip!" throughout the test. It became especially uncomfortable once I made eye contact with a nearby friend since somehow we were the only ones who were acknowledging it. Because we were trying so hard not to laugh in the awkwardness & nervousness, it ended up being particularly memorable. So yeah, nicestory.jpg, but the new name just sounds especially silly to me for all of these reasons.

I don't like the name change either, how does one even say it?.. ip-see? and"Ipster" is way worse than "Glammie". I'd say Ipster reminds me of Hipster! I guess they didn't google this term fully before deciding to build a brand name out of it.. Urban dictionary has two very interesting definitions of Ipsy.

 I thought My Glam sounded a bit childish (even though I love my monthly bags, lol!). Ipsy is a tiny step up in my opinion but I think they should've just had a contest to rename the subscription and the winner gets a free yearly sub or something like that. I think that would've been a great idea for them to do and it would've tied in to the whole "Beauty By You" concept. Heck, they could've just called it Beauty By You. Oh well... hopefully the bags are still as good each month even though they will now be Ipsy bags.

After watching the video on the site, it seems like glam bags are just part of the ipsy experience - so it seems like they are keeping the glam bag / myglam name when it comes to the bags but ipsy is the overall site? Still weird but better than an "ipsy bag"

Not a fan at all... sounds weird to me. I like Myglam better. Ipsy makes me think of etsy.

You hit the nail on the head, the new Ipsy site is more than just the Glam Bag. With the launch of the new site they're hoping to make it more of a sharing community - still not on a forum level but more of a community than just the Facebook wall. On the new Ipsy site members can create looks based on Youtube videos, for example I created one called Bewitching Beauties and the videos there will all be related to vampires, witches and other ethereal and haunting looks. The site probably is still a work in progress though because there are some features that were talked about at the March meeting that still hasn't been added, I don't know if those ideas and features will be added or not.
