Soo,today i texted my mum to just chat with her and somehow we got to the subject of the hairstyle called a Chelsea. I asked if she knew what it was and she was like "yeh totes dude,i wanted one in the early 80's coz i wanted to be all punk" and i was like oh yeh.....then she asked me "hey,im 46 ,am i too old for a chelsea?????" and i just was like "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

tell me your thoughts if you think its appropriate for a 46 yr old mum of 2 to have a Chelsea.

yeh thats my friend from PRD,and yess that haircut is a chelsea,i like feather cuts better tho.

Well me personally I wouldnt want my mom to get one. Try and look past that she is a mom, and her age would it look good? Moms can be themselves and have fun sometimes too. Maybe she was just joking. Your mom sounds cool, mine dosent even know how to text.

I think it's a very young hairstyle, I personally wouldn't see this on a woman in her 40's, but I guess it all depends on your mothers style.

well shes a full blown punk/death metal chicky who still thinks shes 20,but doesn't look a day over 32 im not joking she does look reeeeeeeaally young for her age. but the problem is that if she gets a chelsea, she'll probably miss her purple hair and dye it again!!!!! so my mom is probably going to have a purple/rainbow chelsea. yeh i know my familys all cool. ahaha

why dont u both look thro some hairstyles together ?

for me I just don't like that hairstyle. Not so much her age is the issue, just the look generally. But it's her hair, and if it suits her style then why not go for it!

Well, if your mom has always sported a punk rock style and it suits her, id say yeah, why not

Whatever makes her happy.

I'd never heard of this style before. I thought Chelsea was a place lol

Tbh I don't think I'd like the hairstyle on anyone of any age but if that's her style and she's confident enough to go for it then good for her

I say do whatever!

Wow. That haircut reminds my of my highschool days and going to shows.....I couple of my friends back then had that do.

Yep.I mean, if your mom says "totes, dude", I dont think that she falls into the apron-wearing-helmet-hair-having mom catagory.

Trust me, I'm about to turn 41 and I WILL wear my hair however I want for the rest of my life.

Because I AM older, I decide how I wear my hair; small children are told how to wear it.

(BTW, I got mistaken for a high school student TWICE last Wednesday!!

EEEee!!! THAT was a good day, lol!!

I am still kinda stoked about it

so this seemed like a good time to share, ha ha!)

I agree with the others that it's not a hairstyle I like, at all

However, if she wants it then she should get it.

I had a similar cut my freshman year of university (the back was a little longer, though...long enough to spike).

Honestly, if it matches the rest of your mom's personal style, then I'd say she could probably pull it off.

The style is not to my liking but if your mum likes it and it will make her feel feel good then she should try it. I also think it would in general it suits a younger person but there are some woman in their 40s who could wear that style while most not.

when my mom have short hair i think she looked decent enough to be proud of it, but that was like 4 years ago when my mom had the Louise Brooks bob in a Hawaiin Punch hair color.....god she was crazy when she was younger!!!!!! but i must admit she bakes cupcakes like theres no tommorow...... nope not joking about that.
