a pressing comb is actually a metal comb that you heat up. the newer ones' have cords. this one you put directly on the flame or and old fashion beauticians' heater. very old school! a flat iron has 2 flat surfaces that you pass your hair in between. not a stupid question at all. this is the way black women straightened their hair "back in the day".

I had my hair pressed almost a year ago. My hair doesn't "go back" the way I'd like it to. It took months and months to go back to normal, so I don't think I'll be doing it again.

i hear you. once it's been natural for so long pressing it may be a shock. it took a few days for mine to kink up again like it like it.

Well hello.

I love pressing comb. It's old, but right. You can't straigten without it. Not even a flat iron works. you need those hot teeth going thru that kitchen. It looks great. It is fun, when the weather permits it.

i love it! you should do it more often!

oh, and although the quality of the pic isn't that great, i can tell you have the NICEST skin! wow!

That's what happened to me. Even now that my hair is in better shape than it was right after pressing, it has lost a lot of the bulk and texutre it use to have. My hair used to be really big and fluffy, now my hair is thinner and rather straight.

you got it tann - you need that old fashioned heat to tame that kitchen! lmao don't think this is a summer style at all!

thanks jen - that's my prescriptives custom blend. smoke and mirrors, baby! lmao:icon_chee

thanks cottoncandy - i love the new retro looks. reminds me of watching my aunts get ready for those cabarets back in the 60s. great memories!
