I've had my hair highlighted, and I loved it for the first couple weeks until it started going brassy/orangey. As a quick fix I got a box of dye in lightest neutral brown to tone it down a bit. I don't want to re-highlight it because I don't want to torture my hair any more for now. I knew that it would turn out a little darker since my highlights would soak up the color, but it's way darker than I expected. I know it could be much worse, like a bleach disaster, but I'm still mad about my little screw up.

This is how it turned out-nowhere near light brown. Please excuse the lack of makeup-it's 1:30 a.m and I'm about to go to bed. I did put on a little gloss to avoid being completely naked

. I hope it fades a little at least.

On a positive note, my hair felt quite soft afterwards. I love that Nice and Easy conditioner.

Bleached hair can't hold color as well as virgin or less processed hair, so you are very likely to experience some fading.
