The baby oil helps lock in the moisture from the water.

I do sometimes still use lotion - mostly in the really dry / cold times of the year but I found that I can do without 99% of the time.

yah me too.. im using baby oil in the shower as a final step

ill pick it up along with my dove soap at the store today. maybe its tanning using baby oil that i thinking of thats bad for your skin. OMG...yes! Tanning period is bad for your skin, but with baby oil is even worse. I used to use Skin-So-Soft from Avon in a spray bottle after getting out of the shower and it worked great. But..those dry oils are nice too. The Body Shop makes some.

I also abhor lotioning after a shower. I hate putting on lotion period. I don't know why, I just don't like it. As a result, I feel like sandpaper all day. But I have been using the Aveeno Shower Oil, and I love that stuff! I just slather it on towards the end of my shower, rinse, and I'm done with moisturizing. It totally cured those nasty little red bumps on the back of my arms. It does make the shower floor a little slippery but not too bad. I can't recommend it enough.

I go crazy if I don't put lotion on after I shower. I feel sooo dry and itch and it freaks me out to even think about it.

I'm going to have to try that baby oil though...sounds like a good idea! Thanks!

when i was a girl my mom would grease us down from head to toe with vaseline or pure lanolin after a bath. even though i'm older my skin craves a good moisturizer. i ususally mix a lotion with a body oil and apply daily after i shower. it feels like my skin is flaking away without it!

Sometimes I am too lazy or forget to put lotion on after showering and end up all itchy, especially in winter, central heat. The product below saves time. Use it in the shower, rinse off, leaves skin soft, but I do find in the winter months I need a bit of extra moisture, so I apply some body lotion afterwards.

The next time you take a shower maybe you should try using oil of olay I use it and it make my skin have a lot of moisture.
