ok I suffer from dry chapped lips 24/7. I use carmex but I was wondering if there was somethin else that could be more effective and help with my dry chapped lips. Ive read that vaseline helps but then again Ive heard bad stories about it. If you could please help with this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Carmex is addicting~ I remember couple of people telling me that there is some kind of ingredient in there that makes you use it over and over again. I suggest you use vaseline. Rub your lips lightly with a towel to get rid of some dead skin. then put on vaseline and leave it on. When i went to a dermatologist he said vaseline is prob. the safest thing to use. You can also try kiehls lip balm but i think it feels the same as vaseline.

On the another note, in a people magazine someone wrote in and ask the same question. the person suggest buying lip balm with shea butter in it and apply lots of it!!!

my favorite is the kiehls lip balm #1. it's very moisturizing and helps my chap lips. i can't live without this stuff!

What about Elizabeth Arden (The Healers)

1. Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant

A skincare classic that soothers, restores, calms and

renews.

2. Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF15)

A super-protective, portable stick for lips. Enriched with super emollients to relieve chapping, irritation and cracking.

These two items are effective and help my dry and chapped lips.

The only thing that really keeps my lips properly hydrated for a LONG time is Juice Beauty Lip Plumper. It's a wonderful lip balm and with continued use it makes the lips look more plump. Plus, it's organic!

I can't say enough good things about Mode De Vie Karite Lips in Tahitian Vanilla. It really hydrates your lips and stays on forever. You can get it at LipMedic.com.

I use all the lip balms from the Body Shop and they're my absolute favorites. Also, pure shea butter feels great on the lips and will moisturize anything, no matter how dry. L'Occitane has a little tin for $8 and it lasts a long time. L'Occitane 100% Pure Shea Butter

carmex and chap stick keep your lips dehydrated so you use them over and over.

Vaseline (also comes in a hand lip tube) or burt's bees.

I use Labello lip balms - Blue Hydro Care $2.

Labello is a Canadian company but they may distribute in the US.

I use beeswax. I love in Wyoming (land of dry air with virtually no humidity) and have never had dry chapped lips since using it. I put it on in the morning, evening and after my shower. I don't even have to reapply while at work for over 8 hours. They stay moisturized.

Also, remember to drink water. IF you're big on drinking coffee and sodas they will dehydrate you.

Isomers has a great lip balm. On shopnbc right now there is a special with two of their lip glosses and the lip balm for $12. S&H is 1.99

I use Palmer's cocoa butter lip balm spf15 and it's so hydrating but it stings a little,I even think it has a lip plumping effect ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

.15 oz.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Lip Balm w/SPF 15

A convenient balm with SPF 15 and Vitamin E. Medicated to help prevent and temporarily protect chapped, cracked or wind-burned lips. Smooth application and convenient size make this the perfect year-round lip balm.

I love kiehls lip balm #1 too. I used to have very chapped lips, but it truly saved me^^. I load tons on before going to bed (I know it sounds and feels icky) but you wake up with beautiful lips. A plus is that its not very expensive and a tube or pot can be used for a long long time.
