I don't think whiteheads are DIRECTLY caused by dairy products but I think they can generally aggravate acne. A couple of months ago I gave up all dairy and carbs and my skin improved greatly but it's hard to keep up. You can switch to Soya Milk and use Wholemeal bread if you're worried.

Lee.

I've never heard this, but I don't consume near as much dairy as I should. I

cheese, but I don't even think I get my daily servings in. Coincidentally, I get very few whiteheads if at all.

Hummm...sounds like BS to me. It's like saying chocolate brings blackheads. I think it's all about taking care of your skin. Although some people do have trigger foods that bring out a few more pimples...

But I would drink a glass of water rather than milk anyday! lol! So maybe limit yourself and see if there is a difference...? Best of luck!

I read in a magazine that recent studies found that milk can cause breakouts because of the hormones injected into the cows. It didn't say anything about dairy products in general - just milk.

I think it depends on the person. Unfortunatley with me I get terrible breakouts of cystic acne and white heads if I eat anything with cheese in it, or if I have whole milk. I seem to be ok with ice cream though

Whoah, if I broke out from cheese, I would be in trouble. Good thing you are ok with the ice cream though

. I would die without my dairy, I go through a gallon of skim milk a week, and I love cheese and ice cream and I dont break out. I am cutting down on my ice cream intake b/c I was eating so much of it it was unreal, but man it's hard, lol

I've done a lot of research on acne (and had a lot of talks with my dermatologist) and they all agree that food consumption doesn't cause acne. (Actually, I have never even heard that some people think dairy causes acne -- that is a new one for me!) However there are a few links between food and acne:
1. Some allergic reactions to food can be mistaken for acne. (I think this is what happens to some people who claim their acne went away when they gave up chocolate.)

2. If you eat greasy food and then touch your face, you can spread the grease onto your skin, and the grease can then clog your pores. So always wash your hands after eating greasy food, and if you want to be really careful, wash your face too!

I have more information about acne in my notepad, just click the link in my signature!

Well you know, since everyone processes dairy in the same way, that would put most of the world's adults as allergic to milk/lactose intolerant (most keep consuming dairy right on through it though, LOL!). It could be a more pronounced symptom of that. I hope you are able to get conclusive results soon.

i think thats why babies get those whiteheads and some little pimples i think from too much milk

That is why mother's milk is always the best if it's safe and available to use. When babies get the little pimply things, it's a good sign that their immune system is kicking in.
