I have gone 10.5 weeks since the last time I had my hair cut and highlighted.

I have an appointment this Saturday with a new person since my normal hair stylist is out of commission for a while. She's about $50 more that I'm used to paying for color and another $50 more than I'm used to for cuts.

All my friends are saying I'm not in desperate need of a cut since I'm trying to grow it out anyways - but there are some split ends in there.

I wash my hair only once a week and let it airdry. I flat iron it maybe 2 times a week with a heat protectant.

I use Sudzz FX shampoo and conditioner. Then I use Redken Anti-Snap as a leave in.

I rotate every 2-3 weeks doing a deep conditioner of Kerastese or Queen Helene Cholesterol.

I know there's nothing I can do to repair what damage has been done. Is there anything I can do more to keep the ends from getting worse?

I'm trying to wait another month before I get it cut - that's when my usual stylist will be up and running again (she had a gas leak at her salon).

THANK YOU!!

Hm.. Have you tried going calling a beauty school to see if they are taking appointments? We have a Paul Mitchell school here and you can make an appt to have a student cut and do your hair for a pretty good price!

As for tips on what to do while you wait... I'm no help there, sorry. Hope someone else on here will be able to share some of their wisdom.

I totally forgot - I have the Vidal Sassoon Academy down the street from me in Santa Monica.

I'm such a dork for not thinking of that! I think Tuesdays are the day they do cheap cuts.

Thank you!

have you tried reconditioners? and also if you are looking for a beauty school try libs I am sure they have one in select states. oh and you've got to try john friedas secret weapon, that is my weapon.

I'd just get a trim, or just snip the stray split ends. I've always had some bad experiences when I could've just waited a little longer to have my regular stylist do my hair
