I was doing glycolic and lactic peels in a spot treatment kind of way. One peel every two days and it was going well. The red marks were fading. Then like an idiot I started doing at least one or two a day trying to speed things up and now i have these large dry red scaly patches on my face. I don't know what to do. I can't believe what I've done! My face is now worse than it was before i started the peels; its worse than ever. I don;t know what to do

I'm sorry to hear what happened! I think this is the reason I've held off from buying any stronger professional-grade peels. If your skin looks really awful and burned, I'd say go to your dermatologist and fess up. But I don't think there is a quick fix for something like this. You'll probably have to wait till it heals by itself. Again, I'm sorry - I hope it's not as bad as it seems!

Sorry that happened, im not sure what else you can do either except try not to touch or put anything more on it until it goes. I would make sure the area it moisturised though.

yah keep it moisterized and lay off the peels for a while .. i did this once too .. i applied too much @ 1x hoping for faster result and i peeled everywhere the next day ... .even mU wouldn't cover it and i was so mad @ myself ... i happi to say .. my skin is back to normal now ... drinking lotsa water helps too

I agree with what everyone else said.. I would use a heavy moisturizer though and keep the washing and peels to a minimum for a day or two, then see what happens.

if it doesn't get better, go to dermatologist... because skin might be more prone to infection now...

try using some jojoba oil as a light moisturizer ... it sinks right into the skin and promotes healing, or perhaps aloe vera gel as moisturizer.

and like everyone has said, drink tons of water!

Sorry this happend to you.Try to put pure pulp of aloe vera on it and keep it moisturize with Vitamin E oil.

Ditto! hope it heals soon xxxxx

Go to an esthy and see what she says. I think a professional should look at it before you decide what to do.

Oh my ghosh this is the same thing that has happpened to me. I used a peel and a microdermabrasion and when I woke up in the morning it was dry, flaky skin and I broke out. I am still recovering from it, its been almost a month. Just don't use anything on your face, no scrubs, no cleansers. Just wash your face with water only and use baby oil on ur face, if it does not break u out, to help with the dry flaky skin.

wow I´m glad you posted about this. I have been sooo tempted to use my 30% GA peel more often than advised..also as a spot treatement, there is a red mark I want to fade quicker. thank god I read this, I will definitely NOT do this!

I think a gentle scrub and a light moisturizer should be enough, if it´s really bad you could try a low dose cortisone cream (?...but that´s just what I´d do, I always medicate myself LOL)

hope ur skin is better now.I hav a query...from which site did u get those peels?

I got my glycolic peels done in clinic..n liked its effect very much.. But coudn't continue after 4 sessions due to high cost. was thinking of buying some kit for same to do it at home.

got so confused on diff sites, not sure which one to buy..

could someone pls tell me from where should i take glycolic peels .

There're tons of glycolic peels for home use online. I got mine from makeupartistschoice.com.

Thanks everyone. I applied Neosporin for the last couple days because I was afraid of infection and my skin is pretty much back to normal but I am gonna lay off the peels for another week or so. I'm a little shy of them now, lol. I need to practice control, LOL

I ordered sample sizes (which is actually enough for a whole lot of peels). I still have so much of it left. I ordered lactic in 40% and glycolic in 30%. It's the same stuff they use at salons for like a tiny fraction of the price. Even though i overdid it I will never put down the product, LOL. It is super effective!

Yeah resist the temptation! LOL, that was my problem. I was so excited by it's effectiveness that I went waaaay over board. I think my skin will have healed up in the next day or so. I think ot's okay today. It felt a tiny bit raw in some places yesterday. Like tiny cuts. But the Neosporin is healing it up nicely.

I was going to suggest aloe vera gel also. But I guess I would go to a dermatologist now also just to get the expert doctor opinion.

Good luck, Carol AZ
