I agree with Rosie. Back combing at the crown and then curling the ends into ringlets with a curling iron.

Gonna have to do a ton of back-combing at the crown, or try a bump it. And then just use a texturizing spray and curl with a curling iron.

I agree with Stereogirl. Except she didn't put rollers in her bangs and she didn't leave them in for longer than 10 mins because her curls are loose. A large curling iron was used in the front. She really just turned her hair upside down (after the rollers) and mussed her hair up to get it really piecey and "sexed up". I HTH

I think hot rollers may be better than a curling iron.

I've seen hairdressers putting in hot rollers and then for the section of hair below the crown strategically putting in a curler and then wait a bit, they'd take out the others except for the one places below the crown. After a bit they'd take it out so it was a tight curl. They'd pin it up so the curl was just a loop and then tease and back comb the hair over to give you major volume like hers.
