ok well i dont hate them hate them but i really dont like them...

ive just decided that today....

i put hot rollers in my hair...let them sit...you know the usual steps
and i took them out...my hair looked nice and curly big like bam!

and then 10 minutes later...not even and it was flat with some of the ends still curled!

dang it!

this sucks!

ok so now im lookin for another method...any suggestions??

i wanna try velcro rollers just to try them...and get some volume but i dont know how to use them...

it happens when the hair is thick and long... my hair is thin, so the curls/ waves stay for a while. Once I put the hot rollers on my friend's hair and it was curly for 15 minutes maybe... she just had really thick and long hair...

maybe try sponge rollers

(I have some and sometimes put them on my hair over night, after washing them, when they are almost dry), it makes the waves stay longer. or an iron curler with some hair product, but this damages hair more I think...

I can't help at all since my hair doesn't hold curl for longer than 30 minutes! The only way it will is to douse it w/ hairspray first!

you could try a strong hold air spray..after you take each roller out. or velcro rollers, i've always wanted to try them too..you can get those at sally beauty.

I heard that the best time to curl your hair is when is actually dirty. For some reason it holds it better and longer. If you do it while your hair is clean then you will not get any results...

I have heard that too, Teresa. They recommend dirtier hair when doing prom hairstyles, etc..

I have tried hot rollers and I have very fine, hair. Hot rollers give me that poofy, curly look and then the curls just fall out after about an hour!

I just bought a new roller set not long ago and the instructions say that on dry hair spray a mist of water on the hair before rolling. Not wet but slightly damp (Sort of like steam rollers) I have noticed my steam rollers work much better than my regular hot rollers.

Makes since hair drying on the roller holds better than hot rollers were your hair starts out dry.

Your hair doesn't have to be really dirty to do a good set or up-do. Oily hair actually doesn't do well at all. That is an old hair dressing myth. I specialize in up-do and long hair styles and did a lot for hair shows. Actually if you add a extra body styling product like a mousse or gel in your hair before you dry it and a working spray after it is dry. That is as dirty as it needs to be to get a good hold on any style.

As far as it being dirty washing it the night before is going to be dirty enough to hold a set. It doesn't have to be gross dirty. Just make sure when you wash it to add some product.

I just bought some Richard Caruso Molecular Rollers. They aren't damaging and the curl will hold alot longer.

I love my hot rollers! I use steam rollers and I put a styling gel on each section before rolling it. And let them cool completely before removing.

my hair absolutely loves the Vidal Sassoon Ion steam setters (similar to the Caruso steam setters). They make my hair really soft and the curls stay ALL DAY - even in the summer heat and humidity. An added bonus - you can use them everyday without worrying about them damaging your hair, since there isn't any direct heat.

I roll em up, leave in my hair while I'm "putting on my face", take out, run a little shine serum through my hair and finger comb -
