Well, actually reddish brown.....

I finally went for it last night and colored my hair using ION in Medium Red Brown. It came out a little darker than anticipated, but I've already had a few compliments on it today, so it must not be too bad (hubby thinks it's too dark, but oh well...)

Here's the before and after

BEFORE - Med Gold Brown (not my color either....natural is more med-dark brown with some red undertones/highlights)

AFTER - Med Red Brown

Now I just need to work on styling....I can't seem to get the volume and texture...maybe I'm not using enough product. Any suggestions? It just kind of lays flat, but I need some lift and piecey-ness.

I like it!

It's subtle, but it definitely adds warmth to your skin. I would use a root lifter (Try BigSexyHair's Root Lifter) on the root, and a pomade (Try Paul Mitchell's foaming pomade) to make the ends more textured and piecey.

Ohhh Red Hot Mama! I like it! That shade is really complimented by all of your other features. Beautifully done!

Ironic that hubs doesn't like it, b/c it is subtle, and looks quite nice on you. If I had your hair, I would grow it long and take total advantage of the natural straightness.

You look Beautiful I love the change on ya The color really brightens and warms your face and makes your features stand out.

Looks great. I have flat hair as well and it seems to do good with using Redken Guts. As far as the piecyness goes- I use texture paste-but my hair is short and choppy so that might not work for you.
