hiya, i've been trying to figure out how t do a hairstyle and i don't know the name of it so it's proving kinda hard to find out how to do it.

The hairstyle is basically this (http://i.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs...stepford_l.jpg) it's the "bump" at the front of the hair i'd really like to know how to do.

I do have hair extensions myself and i would also like to know how to do that hair style ie. the curls as well as the "bump".

Also what is the name for the "bump" minus the curls lol

Can you help?? xxxx

lol I call it a bump too I think the proper word for it is pompador. But bump sounds so much better! Anyways what I do..

Get a really fine toothed comb, gather the front section of my hair that I want to "bump", hairspray, comb it then tie it with a tiny rubber band. Then ya can either secure it with bobbypins or a barette like in the picture.

Hope that made some sense :/

I usually just uses bobby pins and hairspray and push the section up to give it the "bump" and then bobby pin it in place. You could use hot rollers or a curling iron to get the curls. You don't want them to be tight curls though so I wouldn't leave the curling iron on each section for very long.

Is it called a quiff?? or is that if the 'bump's' higher? I usually just use just use kirby grips to 'quiff' up my fringe. Not sure how you'd do it without a fringe though.

I grab the section I want to bump and tease it from behind and very lightly comb it to make it smooth then pin it with 2 criss crossed bobby pins.

I've heard it called a yorkie! That's how they refer to it in some magazines because the yorkie dogs have the little poof there and then the owners put a bow in it! Anyway, I usually just poof it a little and put bobby pins in it and spray it! It's easy to do!!

I have to tease mine to get a little height. The pic with nicole is a little flat so you probably wouldn't have to. The only time I don't have to tease mine is when my hair is a little dirty with hairspray.

I use hairspray to tease mine but you have to be sure to not get any on the front or it looks like you used hairspray. I section mine off and the very front row of hair I pull down and the other part I tease with hairspray and then I pull it all up and back and pin it with the crossed pins (keeps them in place when you cross them). This way the hair that you didn't tease or spray is smooth and clean looking.

It just depends on your hair. Experiment and see what works.
