Depending on the depth and "feel" of the scar, you might want to try a microdermabrasion product. I use Epidermx for the dermabrasion properties for lines, minor wrinkles (and it's GREAT) ... it also does a wonderful job of smoothing the skin. I started using it on a scar on my chest last weekend and so far with three treatments it has really started to knock it down. You want to make sure you put products on with good soothing properties afterwards ... like camillia or emu oil. Although I use Epidermx, you can pick up a good microdermabrasion product at a drug store. It won't be quite as good, but it should work just fine, especially since it is a new scar.
