I am having hair issues at the moment.

It seems to look lank and greasy no matter how long it's been since I've washed it.

At first I thought, maybe it's my shampoo and conditioner, so I changed, but it still looks awful.

So I thought, maybe it's my brush? which seems possible, I'll have to wash it to be sure...

but basically I just hate it at the moment. I'm trying to grow it out, but it looks dull, lifeless, dry at the bottom, hideously greasy at the top... messy, it sticks out all the time, it wont hold a curl and it won't be styled..

What should I do? HOLP! lol

hairbyM should be able to help, i've had my hair done by her before she is awesome.

hi, which shampoo are you using atm?

Do you have natural hair or tinted?

Do you have any dandruff atm?

Get a trim. Its interesting that whenever my hair seems to not want to cooperate it usually means im due for a haircut.

hmm, I was using 'say yes to carrots' but now I've got a different brand. not sure if you get it in the US. It's called 'fudge' and it's for coloured hair.

I don't have dandruff but I have noticed that my scalp seems somewhat itchy around the roots... Sigh... so sick of my hair as it is! It is coloured (lightened)

I might just get a cut like Em suggested - it will help it grow. But in between cuts I'd really like to know why it's suddenly become like this!

When my hair gets un co-operative I also go get a trim, it can do a world of good. Though I had a 'trim' today and the hairdresser lopped off far too much hair and went skitso on the layers, also managed to get a bit of a fringe without asking for one... heh that's another thread lol

I hate when hair dressers do that B!

does it look alright apart from that?

I always say I want a centimeter off even if I want 2 inches. Can't trust a woman with a pair of scissors, LOL

lol no, you can't! It looks ok, just not what I asked for, but how often do you find a hairdresser who actually does what you ask for? lol

it sounds like you have a build up... you should get a clarifying shampoo and use that when you start to notice that your hair is getting in this condition

Getting a trim might help. I hate getting my hair cut though because I like it long but it's getting longer and longer and I'm getting more attatched to it lol For weeks before I get my hair cut I say "I'm gunna get it all chopped off" and then I get there and go "Just a trim please" haha

itchy, 'Fudge' is a heavy product i find also.

Also try not putting condtioner around roots area, can make it worse

Goodluck

thanks ladies!

I have only been putting conditioner on the roots which is why I was surprised that it still looked greasy.

I used a new comb also when I washed it last night which seems to have helped... still hate the shape. Will have to get someone to look at that, lol!
