I've been to 2 stylists (within 3 months) now with the same results. The first one I cannot really blame because I let her do what she thought would be good...which I think was copper highlights. But the second one, I specifically went to a pre-consultation to discuss what needed to be done to get away from the red/orange tones and go more blonde with cooler shades. This time, she did more highlights and said she was using a cooler base color.

Now to me, it looks warm, or am I just crazy? I have very pale skin with pinkish undertones and I really think what I need is a cooler/beige-ish pale blonde. I'm trying to eventually go blonde all the way. The cooler colors seem to look the best to my eye when I've tried various 'virtual makeover' tools. Others suggest warmer tones, but I don't think that the warmer tones work for me...they wash me out and make me look ridiculous. Should I try to get it corrected or just live with it? Would correcting it fry my hair? It seems to be in pretty good condition now, despite the recent processing. ugh....

Here's my current hair....I really would like to eventually be mostly beige/cool blonde with maybe a little bit of darker blonde/light cool brown to make it look natural.

I don't think that you're highlights were badly done at all, but imo you need cool tones like you said. I had cool blonde and brown highlights put in recently and it makes a big difference from the warm tones i had before!...I think you should just wait (approximately 6 weeks from when you had your hair done) and next time you go just get it done then. Your hair will be healthier that way but since its highlights and not an all over color it might take more than one time to have all of it changed into cool tones. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I actually think they look very nice :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> But I am sorry that you aren't pleased with them, because that's what matters most! Maybe you can try another place that is more high end and just ask them what they think and if they are sure they can give you what you want? That's what I did and I am very happy with my results! Good luck!

i think it looks really nice on you, but your the one that has to be happy.. did you tell her to use a ash color to get rid of the red tones.. i wouldnt go to light though it might wash you out. if you do decide to change it you may have to put a all over color in ash to get the red out and if you want a beige color tell her you want to look at the color swatches and pick a ash color blond to avoid red tones.. cool ash blonde

I think it looks nice too but if it's really bothering you, try using some toner. You can get it at any drugstore and it will tone down the highlights.

I agree with swtvalina, a toner will def. do you good.

Try going to your local beauty supply store and they will help you to the best of their knowledge.

Wow. They are SO much better than my highlights. (I'm actually jealous.)

I think they suit you fine and they give your hair more life and shine.

But at the end of the day... it's your head!

Good luck.
