hey !

I use a flat iron in conjunction with hair serum..

i've been using biosilk silk therapy for almost a year now & while its ok.. it doesnt give me enough shine as i'd like and it makes my hair looks stringy.. does anybody have any HG hair serums ? or any suggestions for any other type of hair serum ??

any help would be greatly appreciated !!

Beyond the Zone makes an Iron spray (that is comparable to Matrix's spray) which seems to add a lot of shine. You can also just use a smoothing balm, and then apply a shine spray (like Citre Shine) after you're done ironing :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

thanks nyangel.. is this what u do for your hair ? b/c it looks awesome !!! your hair is what i want... healthy... shiney as hell lOL doesnt even look frizzy *JEALOUS !!*

lol - thanks! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Actually I really don't use serums or shine sprays because they tend to make my hair look greasy. I use HealthySexyHair tri-wheat leave-in conditioner, then use the HealthySexyHair Soy Smoothie Straightening tonic. That's pretty much it on a normal day. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> The shine I noticed comes out from the brush and blowdryer. I use a round ceramic barrelled brush - and a ceramic/ionic dryer. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Maybe Loreal Anti-frizz Serum in the orangey botle? It's a silicone serum, which may cause buildup (so you may need a clarifying shampoo), but does make hair nice and soft and really SMOOTH and silky.

2 things I have discovered:

1) If you want real shine that does not go away until the next shampoo and is actually good for your hair, NY Angel is right. Tools are everything! Use an ionic dryer and use a round boar brush (or a boar and nylon mix). That is key! Boar bristles distribute the natural oils from your hair (esp. your scalp) and bring them down to the ends. The difference when I don't use a boar brush to blow dry is AMAZING!

2) Be careful of shine serums! The truth is, while they can temporarily make your hair looks healthier/shinier, in the end, overuse will actually dry out your hair, making it look even less shiny.

FYI, since I have given up shine serums and stuck to using boar brushes, my hair has real shine all on it's own!

Good luck!

Not sure if you were referring to my post or not, but if you are inquiring about the nylon/boar brushes, I got mine at Sally's and the only brushes I use are Spornette. They rock!!!!!
