When I first heard about hair mascara, I thought...yeah, ok...same stuff like Manic Panic or the spray on kind that looks like

But, I ordered some...two shades. One is a blonder highlight and the other one is kind of a carmel colored one and I gotta say....I like them. They don't stiffen your hair and if you just want a temporary highlight here and there for a night out or for a day, it's good. It looks real, easy to apply. It has a wand like regular mascara and goes on easily.

Doesn't stick out, either, like some artificial colors do.

Christian Dior makes them as well as other stores.

I have really dark hair, so I just put a little bit of the blonder one on and it's subtle, but looks good.

Whoever though about that idea is one smart person!!

what brand? i'm intruiged.. lol i used to use crazy hair mascara colours in my hair when i was like 11 or so. i had this royal blue one that was my favourite! but it did make my hair go really stiff and brittle a lot of the time. i thought i looked so cool lol! i would never have thought of using them as an adult but i have been thinking about getting my hair highlighted anyway, i think this would be a cheap way to find out what looks good!

Sounds pretty cool!!!! Have some photos of the results, before and afters?

I was gonna take a pic last night cuz I just got a new digital for my airbrushing, clothing business.

I've had it in (the hair mascara) all day (my hair is up in a ponytail now...I'll put up a pic tonight with the mascara in it) and last night, I combed through it and it stayed, didn't "chip" off like some spray colors do. I like it.

Mary Kay has some, L'oreal....

Here's the link where I got it:

2 BLOND HAIR HIGHLIGHT SHIMMER BROWN MASCARA - eBay (item 380068271287 end time Oct-28-08 09:25:14 PDT)

I didn't put the thick "chunky" highlights in, though. I did it with a little bit of hair here and there...like thin highlights.

Wow! I have always been afraid because I was so sure that it would make my hair all stiff, a la Cameron Diaz in Something about Mary.

Okay, here's the pics:

Completely dark before:

Alot lightened after. (I don't know what that stream of light is

)

I used it mainly on the top and sides.

At first it is, when you put it on and it's drying, but when it's all dry...then you can comb through it and there's not much of a difference in the texture.

That sounds interesting ! I have a hair mascara from the brand Hairgum Move, and it's tricky to get the right amount of color on the wand, as well as applying it evenly on the hair. They also carry only a few funky colors, so it's really not for daily use.

That looks really good!

As soon as you said hair mascara I thought of the blue stuff that was trendy when I was at infant school

Haha that was my first thought! I had blue and purple... oh yeah! lol

I agree that experimenting with these mascaras would be a great idea to determine if one wants to highlight or not.

That's hilarious. Didn't read that post, yet........

here's another pic from today. I didn't use as much today as before. But, in my bangs, you can see it (one striped area) and on the bottom sides.
