if i dig my finger into my scalp even after a good shampooing dirt gets in.. help me get it clean for once in my life!

What shampoo are you using? You may need a clarifying shampoo to help get rid of all the residue.

Most poeople never associate clarifying qualities with this, but Neutrogena T-Gel works really well.

When my scalp has a build up of oil, I use a deep cleansing shampoo and leave it on for about 2 mins, it gives the shampoo a little extra time to clean away all the dirt.

I use Pantene Clarifying Shampoo once a week and Suave Coconut Shampoo as my regular shampoo. With the clarifying shampoo, I use deep conditioner, and with the regular shampoo, I use the matching conditioner.

Another good one is Nexxus aloe rid but it's a clarifying treatment rather than a shampoo.

Neutrogena T-gel is a definite must for clarifying, especially if you use volumizing shampoo -- it tends to build up on the hair shaft. Typically, it's a good idea to use a clarifying shampoo once a week if you are using any type of volumizing product. But I believe if you are applying the deep conditioner to the scalp area it can undo the clarifying.

Also consider using white vinegar dilluted with water. It's similar to using baking soda.

I haven't had much luck with their scented shampoos but I do like their knock-off line.

I've been doing it for years.

You may also want to try neutrogena's clarifying shampoo. It is only about four dollars and makes hair and scalp really clean without feeling dried out.

My sister has oily hair, she uses Suave Kiwi and Lime shampoo and conditioner and it seems to work well. Also, once in a while she mixes some lemon juice with the shampoo when she's getting a lot of buildup.
