Hair color help

Hey all. Well heres my questions!!!

I died my hair BLACK with semi permanent dye that really isnt washing out much and now I want to go PLATINUM BLONDE for summer. I know this change is going to be really drastic for my hair but i really want to do it. I just have a few questions i wanted some answers to 1st.

1st of all since my hair is black even with stripping it will i be able to get it to be platinum without getting that orangey yellow?

My hair is REALLY long down to my butt so if i strip my hair and bleach it blonde will i have to cut a lot of it off due to damage??

How bad will the damage be to my hair?

yes they can take all the pigment out of your hair and strip it, then put a toner of the color you want

how bad the damage will be depends on the shape your hair is in now

I honestly would never bleach my hair because its fries the hell out of it and I would look like an idoit blonde. There's this girl I know who bleaches and dyes her hair crazy colours all the time, and her hair looks like hay, and it probably feels like dead grass. If you want to go blonde just use regular hair dye in platimun blonde, or go to a hairdresser and tell her what colour you want. =]

You can't just put blonde dye over black hair. It wouldnt do squat. YOu have to remove the black first, either bleach or color remover. Blonde hair dye doesnt work that way, it just changes the shade of blonde you already have to be.
