Hair Brushes - What's the difference?

I want to buy a new paddle brush and a new round brush for my long, thick hair. Is there any difference between natural bristles or synthetic bristles?

Thanks for the Great link. My favorite is a large round natural boar bristle brush. But I never use a brush when my hair is wet....I alway use a wide tooth comb and then I'll use my brush when I'm blow drying my hair
