well i have curly hair but i usally staighten it a lot now.. soo after like a day it was gettin all greasy n icky..so i told my mom ( she used to b a hairdresser) and she bought me a sebastian shampoo for oily hair n it works good...then a while later she bought the cheap brand Sunsilk for oily hair n it works really good too and its cheap =) so try that it helps me alot ..it could also b the type of products you put in your hair and ive actually heard washing too much makes it more oily..idkkk..

yes yes yes! its evil i hate it. my normal shampoo is a clarifying one.

i use Paul Mitchell Shampoo 2, ive used it for a few years now, its made my hair so so normal. its nice.

I noticed when going vist my sister, I stayed at her house for a week and washed my hair everyday w/ my shampoo and conditioner but my hair was SUPER clean and had SUPER volume! I'm going to invest in a shower purifier (you know like drinking water purifiers) its the reason why my hair was so clean cuz the water where my sister was very clean. Try buying it will help!

I have Oily hair.. its fine and seems to keep hold any grease :|. I wash it daily with Johnsons Baby shampoo and it seems not as oily

My hair gets really greasy overnight. I have to wash it in the morning before I go anywhere. So jealous of my friends that can occasionally ditch showering in the morning. Even if I wash it at like 6:45am by like 4:00pm it's starting to get yucky.

I remember reading somewhere that as a quick fix you can use baby powder lightly... I think I've also heard to skip conditioners... Not too positive...

welcome to MuT!

definitely give a clarifying shampoo a try. suave's is gentle enough for every day use and effective!

I get the same prob. You have to switch shampoos as you may be getting product buildup. Hairproducts and even shampoo leave a film over your hair and unless you use a shampoo that can break that oil down, it will just lead to more buildup. I switch shampoos every 3 weeks and right now Aussie is working pretty well. Pantene has a tendency to make hair kinda greasy too because it has so many moisturizers. Also try only putting conditioner on the ends of your hair instead of your entire head.

I also have greasy hair, make sure you are not using too much conditioner or too much shampoo.

Not too positive... My hair is also fine and soaks up the oil in a hurry, and sometimes if I'm running late I will skip washing my hair and put baby powder in it. The baby powder definitely makes a difference, although my hair still doesn't look freshly washed, but the baby powder makes it look good enough that I can put it in a ponytail and it's not noticeably greasy.
As for conditioner, conditioning the roots of your hair will make it greasy and weigh the hair down; plus it's unnecessary since the natural oils on your scalp will condition the roots! Just use conditioner on the length of your hair -- it can take a while (several days if you have long hair) for your natural oils to travel down the length of the hair shaft, so conditioner should be used on the length to help keep it from getting dried out.

I've also heard that washing your hair too often makes it oilier -- stripping all the oil out of your hair with constant washing just makes your scalp retalliate by producing more oil! You can try cutting back to washing every other day, but keep in mind it may take a few weeks before your scalps adjusts and reduces the oil production. I don't think it makes a difference with my hair, though, because in high school I went years where I only washed it every other day (my hair was down to my waist back then and took forever to dry!) but it was always greasy at the roots on the second day so I always wore it in a ponytail those days!

Usa a clyarfying shampoo if u use other products for hairstyling

When you shampoo use less condtioner not a lot that makes the hair kinda of greasy and weighs it down

Could someone name a few types of clarifying shampoos? (salon brands please!) Thanks a lot!

Nexxus Aleo CLyarfying shampoo and Kenra Clyarfying I hear is good and Paul Mitchel has one two Awaphi or something like that.

maybe you have alot of product buildup? try clarifying once a week.

i'm a swimmer and my ends are completely fried and crispy while my roots and scalp are VERY oily. my hair becomes oily by the end of school day, and i shower in the morning.
