I have really deep acne scars on the apples of my cheeks. I see all these girls on youtube covering up their acne/acne scars with layers upon layers of foundation, I refuse to do that. However, I do hate wear makeup sometimes just because I feel it amplifies my scars rather than helps. I've been hearing silicone based primers/products help with this so much. This is a whole new world of products I need to discover. Any suggestions? I just ordered Clarins Instant Smooth since I hear its basically like putting a new layer of smooth skin on.

I'm a fan of the Clarins.. love it! Smashbox also offers great primers, which I have several of. You'll want to try their Photo Finish primers, which come in everything from SPF to color correcting. . Haven't tried it yet, but many ladies recommend using Monistat anti chafing gel..lol, yes it seems funny, but is silicone based and super affordable, compared to most traditional foundation primers.

Monistat? Haha. I might have to try that on a day I plan to stay in. I heard eyeshadow primer is really good as well but that seems like it could get costly real quick.

If you Google Monistat+primer, you'll get tons of hits. Seems to work the same as traditional primers, but more budget friendly. Just remember to stick to silicone based foundations and maybe whatever application technique you use..? Goss on YouTube has a great vid on applying foundation and minimizing the appearance of pores.
