shaving doesnt make the hair grow back any faster, but it makes it look thicker because of the angle it grows at after its cut by the razor.

epilate or wax for less regrowth which is finer and softer over time. after a while some people find they are hair-free for months on end. ive noticed that about my underarms which ive been waxing repeatedly for 3 years. i can go over a month without a wax...

You lot are brave - epilators hurt!! To me, it's like long, drawn out waxing!! I have a pretty high pain threshold too!

I HATE shaving as well, it does my head in. I'm like you, I'm stubbly again after a few hours!!

I wax the tops of my legs but don't bother with the bottom, I just shave those. Because of the hair being in different stages of growth I'm feeling stubbly again within a couple of days of waxing!! Sometimes, straight away - as it doesn't get the really short ones.

I've been thinking about getting an epilator-- I'll probably ask for one for Xmas or something, LOL. Shaving is annoying and I can't use depilatories like Nair or Veet either because they burn my skin. I've tried waxing/sugaring a few times and I guess I just don't have the patience or skill to make it work. Haha.

Apparently with epilators it hurts a lot at first, but as you continue to use it the pain dies down and it's not so bad. Also like chameleonmary said, the hair grows back finer and softer than if you had shaved it, since it's pulled out from the root instead of just cut off with a razor. And over time the hair starts growing back really slowly, so you could be going a couple months without having to epilate again.
