Please help... for some reason, I don't have scalp dandruff, but I do have really bad dandruff in my eyebrows. Tends to be closer to the nose than the ear. I've tried exfoliating and taking breaks from putting any makeup there, even using dandruff shampoo and conditioner on them!!! But whatever I do, I've got these huge chunks of skin that stick out and come right off... sometimes they leave scabs that don't bleed, but instead secrete a weird clear thin fluid for a few hours.

My parents have always told me it's because I don't exfoliate enough- but I do! I haven't seen a derm about it but it's really embarrassing- people point it out- and quite painful...

Help? Anyone else with this problem...?

Are you moisturizing them well at night? Maybe a good night cream or oil would help hydrate the skin.

I'll try that tonight! I was always worried about getting zits or ingrown hairs in my brows if I were to put stuff on them, but hey, the 'druff is worse than a zit. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I've seen this before on a few actors on set, it's dry skin I'd even venture a guess that it's eczema. BUT... A definite consultation with a dermatologist will give you the exact answer of what it is, and what the treatment will be. To make things easier, your family physician will set you up with an appointment with a dermatologist.

I have dry skin in my eyebrows.  It sounds like you might be making it worse by over-exfoliating.  I know I've done the same in the past.  I recently went to MAC to purchase some concealer and had the make up artist suggest something to help hydrate since my moisturizers weren't doing the trick.  She suggested the MAC Lightful Softening Cream.  It really works.  Apparently it preps your skin for moisturizers and allows your skin to absorb it better.  Sometimes, dry spots cause the moisturizer to just sit on top of the skin instead of sinking in, which is what is needed in order to actually get rid of the dryness.

Thank you guys so much! Unfortunately my family doctor is off on leave for the next year so I'm only seeing my psychiatrist, it's impossible to get into the family doctor's replacement (my mom says it's because he's apparently very handsome, lol). I have family members who work in medicine though so I can ask for a recommendation.
