   Hey Everyone!!

So, right now I'm enrolled at Ashford University with two years left to earn my BA in Organizational Management. My

husband is in the Marines so we move around a little bit. I have really been interested in Esthetician work for some time, well I

have always enjoyed makeup, skin care, and hair- all my life! But, right now, I have done so much research on being an

Esthetician. I am soooo ready and want to move forward with this! I'm stuck with not knowing what to do being that I'm two

years away from my Bachlors degree and being enrolled with another school. I've been a stay-at-home mom for two years

without work and I am so excited to be able to work again but I am so interested in the Esthetician world and being able to

work with people. I just need some advice on what to do..My husband tells me, "Do what you want." ha-ha, ok??

 I know, I

can take a break from school, get my Esthetician license, work and love what I do, and return back to school to finish my two

years. But, is right now a good time for the work?? I work hard and I love working with people. I am very social, so working with

customers wouldn't be hard for me and I do enjoy retail so I know I could make sales. Eeeek, follow my heart or wait it

out...??? ANY HELP/ADVICE WOULD BE SOOOO NICE!!  I don't have any friends or family who are in the field so talking to

someone about this is hard.

   Thanks Everyone!!

I am going to be blatantly honest with you, I think earning your BA will get you farther down the line then getting a certificate for being an esthetician. I currently have my certification and absolutely regret going through the program. While I was good at it and received job offers, I was only offered commission which in this economy won't do you any good. Times are tough for most people today and while women will spend to get their hair done, they won't spend the extra money to take care of their skin. With a BA you can at least get a managerial position, but with an estheitician license you may not get any kind of work. I would definitely encourage getting your esthetician license after you have a secure position at a full time/part time job, you could probably find a way to take night classes and then go further. This has just been my experience with having my skin care certification, other's may have had more luck with it.

Good luck, girl!
