I really think emu oil is a wonder product. Seriously. Not just for beauty but for consumption as well.

I used to sell this stuff many moons ago-- long story. I have a feeling that in a few years, you will see emu oil revolutionize the medical community. It has amazing transdermal properties and there's nothing like it. The emu is actually 100% consumable-- nothing on the bird goes to waste.

Having said all of that, you need to make sure that you get a refined oil. If your oil smells, it's becoming rancid. I use it after my nightly wash and especially under my eyes. I got mine from Lure Beauty (no smell, clear, not yellow) and I have some on order from Lumeire as well.

It is excellent for dry skin and it absorbs instantly. I also take emu oil capsules. Emu oil is also amazing for burns, exzema, psoriasis, muscle aches, strains, etc.

I don't think you'll regret using it :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks for the info Brandi!....I was just getting ready to buy Jojoba oil for my skin because it's supposed to be non-greasy, then I came across some info on how great coconut oil is so I was switching to that..... now it looks like it's going to be Emu oil.....It gets a little confusing.......

they have it at fromnaturewithlove.com, 2 oz for 15.00

4oz for 25.00

It's very expensive but worth it!

I have emu oil from aubrey nicole. It smells a bit like chicken fat. The website says it's australian emu oil. I have another on the way from lurebeauty which is from the US.

Would there be any difference in the emu oil if it came from australian bred emus or US bred emus?

I was given emu oil to help scars; I'm wondering if anyone has tried that and had any success.

Mine does smell a little strange, though, but by looking at this thread it seems it isn't supposed to...

I didn't know it was used as a moisturizer and under eyes. I'll have to try this. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

This is from fromnaturewithlove website......

Emu oil is rapidly gaining recognition as an invaluable cosmetic ingredient due to very positive results in current studies. It has an extraordinary ability to penetrate the skin, acts as a carrier for carrying other ingredients into the skin, it is non-comedogenic, and is non-irritating. It has been found to reduce inflammation and redness of the skin, reduce the formation of wrinkles and restore moisture to irritated dry skin. It is extremely healing when used in conjuction with Tamanu oil for ezcema and psoriasis. In addition, it has been found to reduce inflammation and pain of sore muscles and joints and can help with conditions such as arthritis. It is unparalleled in its ability to heal burns and prevent the formation of scar tissue while encouraging rapid repair of damaged tissue and should be a must have for the medicine cabinet. A blend of emu oil, water and lavender essential oil in a spray bottle will rapidly heal wounds, burns, stitches, and even hot spots in dogs and encourage quick re-growth of lost hair/fur due to injury or surgery. Used in soap at 10-20%, emu oil will make a hard bar with stable moisturizing lather.

Use emu oil in essential oil blends to help deliver the oils into the skin. Use in massage or sports blends to relieve soreness and inflammation. Emu oil becomes creamy looking at 65 F and will solidify if keep colder. Refrigeration is recommended if you plan to store emu oil for longer than 3 months.

Hope that helps!!!
