Alright having lived in cold n dry weather here in Paris, Im having a bad dandruff problem althou I do have a nice hair externally touchwood!.I used to have before but it doesnt itch; but here it itches and flakes badly! I have tried numerous anti dandruff shampoo from Selsun Blue, Nizoral,H & S but nothing works;I even applied vinegar on scalp blahhh didnt work either.

I read about Garnier Fortifying Anti Dandruff Shampoo, isit good? Im out of idea on what to do with my scalp!

Has it actually been diagnosed as dandruff?? It may very well just be dry scalp. It's dry so it itches, you scratch it, the flaky dry bits rub off in your hair. Looks like dandruff, but dandruff is actually a fungal thing. Maybe just try a good moisturizing scalp treatment. I don't know if you have a Sally's beauty supply store over there, but if not just go to any beauty supply store or go to a salon and they'll hook you up!

Has a doctor had a look at your scalp?

You might have a fungal infection and require something stronger than over the counter anti dandruff products.

You could go in a hair salon and ask what they think about it, it could be your hair's not used to this climate

. I'd suggest Nodé from Bioderma, which is a great mild shampoo, i've never had dandruffs since i've used it, but it's more expensive than the supermarket stuff. In salons, if they sell Kerastase (pro line from l'oreal) that brand sells a hair serum in a blue bottle, it costs a small fortune but it healed my scalp when it got burned from the sun.

Maybe just try coconut oil on your scalp, see if it helps ?

i would go see a dermatologist. if it is truley as bad as they say they can not only find the cause but they can also give you something to get rid of it. either a steroid if it is just dry skin or a anti fungal shampoo if it is a fungicidal dandruf

My scalp became very flaky a while back when I changed shampoo to quite a strong redken onel. My hairdresser actually noticed it and put a special treatment on it which helped, I also used head and shoulders for a while and now my scalp doesnt react to the Redken shampoo anymore.

I agree to get a professional to check it out and find out what is causing it. If the treatments you have tried have been over the counter, your hairdresser may have something stronger, hairdressers are trained in recognising conditions of the hair & scalp, so you could visit a salon and ask them to take a look.

Good luck!
