I've been using ProActiv for 2 months now, and it really helps my cystic acne! I usually never them anymore, and when I get them, they are so small you can't even see them.

I used to get non stop cystic acne on my chin since its so oily, but now I only get them occasionally. The best thing is just a cortisone shot. Some go away easily with Retin-A micro, others take longer. I also noticed that a creamy cortisone ointment helped if I soaked my chin with warm water and applied it afterwards, it actually never erupted and healed under the skin.

Hi Annabelle,

I glad to see you found something that's working for you. A year ago, you were the one who started this thread.

It may have taken some time, but your journey has turned out well. Wishing you continued success with the Pro Active.

I have them really bad right now. It first started when I stopped my birth control, but it's gotten worse now due to stress (nursing school student, very stressful, anyone who's been there will relate). I just keep piling mario badescu's buffering lotion on them until they form a head & can be drained. Once they drain the pain is gone, they are soooo unbelivably painful. I am going to try the aspirin mask tonight though.

I get them all the time when I'm stressed out. I've found that avoiding mutton and seafood really helps.

now it makes sense! i've been stressing out lately and i've been sleeping late to add. i've got one under my nose. it's bugging me really. i've tried to put acne gel but it won't go away. bummer. bummer.
