Does anyone have problems with these painful, annoying bumps coming up when they get stressed out? I usually never break out, but I've been stressing about finals, and two pop up.

Anything I can buy at Wally World to help get rid of them? They are driving me crazy! :icon_conf

Actually yes, I came across a break out stage just this last summer. Ick I hated it. I tried everything too. Stress is a factor with them, so that sucks. But you also need to be very gentle on them. We think the opposite, like we need to scrub them clean and such.......but opposite. You can use an ice cube on them to help with swelling. But pretty much they have to run their course. After they are gone you can do preventative measure.

I have not had one pop up in a few months now and last summer I had a new one like every few days, I hated it. I changed my skin care products and made sure to wash my brushes and threw my sponges away and decided if I did use a sponge it was one time only. I became very bacteria concious.

Some use neosporin or try a triple antibiotic ointment. Also (just on the spot, try like a sylislic - can't spell, or bp) until it is gone.

PM me if you need more advice, I can tell you my story and what I did. I am literally 99-100% clear now - and that is saying alot compared to what happen to my complexion this summer! Now I have to deal with the stupid scars.......It's just embarassing to talk about......Ick I hated that period.

i get them sometimes. i just have to tell myself not to touch them until they're ready to. i finally got it that me continuously messing with it, that it leaves bigger scar marks.

Characteristics of Cystic Acne: Skintactix Information

1. Deep infections that are nodule or cyst-like and can become large.

2. Infections do not raise to the surface and do not discharge their infection waste material.

3. Blackheads and whiteheads may or may not be present.

4. Infections heal very slowly and scarring is possible.

I still get them from time to time due to stress. They are very painful and my esthetician uses high frequency to zap them and kill the bacteria below the surface. It hurts but helps them to heal faster sometimes.

I sometimes get what has been described in this thread, except mine don't hurt at all, but, they do cause the skin over them to become shiny and light colored. I have no idea what they are called but it's terrible, the skin on my chest is speckeled!:icon_eek:

I use tree tea oil and hands off my face when I have that pop up on my face.

i get this too. here are some things i have heard of and some i have used that can help.

certain kinds of birth control pills one is yasmin i believe and i cant remember the other one but i can get the name if you want it.

antibotic called doxcycline, it is very cheap (here in US anyway) but you could get worse before you get better it usually takes at least 3 months before you can be cured. i have used this for cyst and just reg. acne it does work for me.

ACV- when i have a real painful one i will lance it with a needle diabetics use to prick their fingers, there very sharp , small and sterile ( i dont suggest this though for everyone) then after i lance it sometimes a clear oil will come out this is when i apply ACV on a sterile pad and leave it on my face (it will sting) i do this several times a day and leave the ACV on for at least and hour i even tape to face with med tape sometimes so i can still do my house work etc... they clear up in a week and usually with no mark left behind.

a face wash called capsiderm is a god send for most. you can only order from the internet, it is a wash so not a magic bullet but it does clear them up and cut down on this problem and to top it off it is all natural. cost about 20-25 dollars.

asprin mask

olive leaf (can find a health food/vit. store) taking internal

for stress try chamolie tea, lipton makes one that is all nautral in fact they several that are nautral and taste yummy and are good for you, like their peppermint, lemon and orange but try the chamolie for stress,

I have found hormonal imbalances to be the cause of my cystic issues. I use Vitex off and on to help with that. There are also some good blood purifier herbs that help; burdock, dandelion and yarrow are the first few that come to mind.

I have one starting right now on the side of my nose. I noticed it yesterday. They are such a pain and I've been dealing with them on and off for most of my life.

The real bad big ones I go see a dermatologist and they usually lance it or insert a needle into it with some antibotic.

The smaller ones I apply heat compresses to a few times a day. After two days there is usually a head on it (a white spot) at that point I take a real sharp sterile needle and just prick it. Most of the gunk comes right out. Then I clean it with some alcohol and leave it alone.

That's probably not the best thing to do, but that's what I do.

Ladies, help please!

Three weeks ago a cystic acne appeared on my chin, which I tried to sort out with ACV+antibiotic ointment. The bump has almost gone, but a very nasty mark is still there.

Two days ago I have decided, for the first time ever, to use a self-tanner on my face. So I have purchased L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Lotion with SPF8 and having mixed it with Clinique DDML applied it on my face. In the morning I noticed a new cystic acne next to the first one and today 5-6 new extremely itchy whiteheads appeared around my chin. What do you think, is it as a result of using L'Oreal product or something else?

Ouch, it hurts and burns.

I have used DDML for a very long time on and off. Will definitely stop L'Oreal. Could you PLEASE tell me how to use an aspirin mask in this case?

Thank you very much

Thank you very much for your help. I will try it tonight, hope I will get rid of that awful itch at least.

Neut. "On the Spot Acne Treatment" works great on spots. I use to cover my whole face about 3 times with this medicine. I think that just made my face drier and it looked like I had a mask on! Stick to spot treatment like the directions tell you to do!

Cystic pimples are terrible.. sometimes they occur in a certain spot on your face where it hurts to make any facial expressions! I was very stressed 2 weeks ago due to impending semester finals and I got two cystic zits right between my eyebrows.. I sure felt those everytime my face moved. The only thing I can do to help them is dab 10% BP cream on it overnight and it calms down a little bit day by day.

I found hormonal imbalances to be the cause of my cystic battle, too. At one point, I easily had six cystic pimples on the left cheek. I started taking phytoestrogens and becoming very bacteria conscious as well. Knock on wood, I haven't experienced a cystic pimple for nearly a year. I also switched to a gentle bar cleanser (Ivory), rather than liquid soap which seems to leave a film on my face. Dr. Varon's Skin Bleaching System has been a godsend for me. When something does crop up, step 1 zaps it right away....Step 2 is useless because I've become sensitized to hydroquinone, but I'll buy the whole entire package just for the skin brightening lotion. These days, I'm taking Black Cohosh, and carefully monitoring my diet...I think skin care definitely has to be equal parts of internal and external treatment.

omg i didnt kno stress caused theseee...that completely explains it..over the past few weeks i got two which was weird cause i almost never get these and those weeks were wen i was stressing a lot...now they are gone..but i picked at the dry skin left after one was gone n now its raw n pinkish..ick...ill keep slatherin on the neosporinn yeyyy =)

Apparently I've gotten two of these over the last year, and didn't even know it... No idea why they popped up either... Luckily, they were really small, so the marks they've left are hardly there...

ugh i always get those along my jaw and chin. its so hard not to poke and pick at them but im making a point of stopping myself. otherwise, they'll never heal :-/
