Colouring hair

I recently went to the hair dressers to get my hair dyed red. I love it, but it's starting to fade and don't really want the £50 price tag after only a few weeks.
I'm going to top it up myself, but what are good hair brands for colouring? And would I need to bleach my hair again to get the bright colour?

Ive been dying my hair forever myself, I think as long as you follow directions you cant go wrong. And the best tip Ive ever used is that for the last 2 inches of hair dye left in the bottle, add your daily conditioner and give it a good shake then finish applying to tips. It really helps not dry your hair out as much. Good luck!
