CHI Irons - Give me feedback

Does anyone own a CHI iron and have any good feedback to give? I really want to ask for one for my birthday (Sept 10), but I wanted to know if it is worth the price (anywhere from $150 to $250, since I want a 2" iron). I have a $35 straightener right now and it takes me about 40 minutes to straighten my hair (I do it every other day) It is pretty reliable, but I've been considering an upgrade since I straighten sooooo often. Does a CHI straighten faster? Does it last, I've heard that they (especially the turbo kind) don't last long...

Also, does the CHI iron help with damage? My hair is not very damaged even though I straighten alot (I also use heat protection sprays, so I guess that helps!), yet I would like something that causes minimal damage.
