Okay - my response may be long...so bare with me. You say 'balding'; I'm assuming you mean thinning. If you're bald. and I mean shiny, hair free head - what I'm about to say definetly will not apply to you. However, if it's thinning thats the issue and not baldness...then listen up! There are roughly 6 different reasons that hair could be thinning; While some are hormonal, others are hereditary and others can be stress related. The two different soultions can help with either..
Option 1:
Nioxin - they market themselves as 'Skin care for the scalp'. We treat the skin on our faces, so why not treat our scalps? Primarily there are 3 main steps to the Nioxin system; the other steps can be added once you've followed through with the first 3. Step 1: Cleanser (shampoo)....this comes in different formulas (1-8) that are based on the density of the hair, whether or not you have chemically treated hair, and what stage of thinning you are at (if you can see the scalp you are advanced; if you cant you are beginner). The cleanser works to remove excess DHT(dihydrotestostorone) from the scalp and is the first step in preparing for a healthy scalp enviorment.
Step 2: Scalp Therapy (scalp conditioner)...again this comes in formulas raning in numbers 1-8. It contains enzymatic complexes, anti oxidents and vitamins to help nourish the scalp and ensure optimum health of the scalp.
Step 3: Scalp Treatment...this is the final and most important step in the process...since you have removed most of the excess DHT from the scalp by using the cleanser, this adds a protective shield onto the scalp to ward off DHT from depositing and deposits tons of vitamins and nutrients to nourish the scalp. Remember, if the scalp is healthy, it won't loose hair. The nioxin system was created to ensure that the scalp is healthy, though they don't flat out say that hair can re-grow, I've had many, many clients see huge results with this line.
Option 2: Nisim....a 2 step approach. Step 1: New Hair Biofactors Shampoo (formula for oily hair as well as dry hair)...deep cleanses the scalp and removes dirt, sweat buildup, and neutralizes the appearence of DHT.
Step 2: Hair and Scalp Extract: they claim it stimulates the growth of new hair by providing nutrients and vitamins that the scalp may be lacking.
I've known people who have used both; it's a personal preference. One important thing to understand is that neither of these options are a quick fix; they are a commitment towards a step in the right direction.
Hope I helped!
