I have really bad blackheads. I hate to put foundation on because I am afraid that more blackheads will appear. When I went to the dermatologist she gave me some smelly crap that she said would take a while to work and it literally killed my skin to the point where it was flaking off. I assume it was a medication to try my face out since my face reacted so to it.

How do you get rid of blackheads? I try the strips where you wash your face and put them on while your face is still wet but those can only do so much.

Help? I really appreciate it.

I have a lot of blackheads - more noticeable to me than anyone else. I pretty much work on squeezing a few every night. Mainly the bigger ones. I don't think there's any way to permanently get rid of them. I think it might be genetic or something.

I do that also but I figure it must be terrible for your skin. Especially for mine since I grow my nails out long and file them to a round point.

I've been having the same problem. I use Clean & Clear's Blackhead Clearing Scrub... it works pretty well for me.

I had this Clearisil stuff [[Total Control]] and it worked wonders. My face was so soft and felt great but they stopped making it. -_- /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'll be sure to try the Clean & Clear clearing scrub. Thanks. ^_^ /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Well, nothing I ever bought in the drugstore did anything for me. The two things I love for washing my face are Mario Badescu foaming glycolic wash and I use the oil cleansing method when there's more time.

I use Biore face and nose strips, and they seem to be the only ones effective

Delphine, I have them in my chin area too!!!

I just noticed that I may have some around my lips... arrrggghhh!!!!

I've never found anything to cure my blackheads. I have them bad! Ugh! I hate them! lol

No, I'm talking about Clearasil total control, multi-benefit deep pore cream cleanser.

I have them on my cheeks, chin, nose & forehead. They are HORRIBLE.

Oh, and I'm not sure what she gave me. It was two years ago.

I get blackheads AND whiteheads, and it doesn't seem to matter if I wear makeup or not. I think some of us are just prone to them. The worst is when I get them around my lips! No product seems to work. Nothing to do but just squeeze them gently as they appear. Yuck!

i have a lot on my nose, neutrogena makes this gel mask for blackheads.

oh my god its a godsend.

just its kinda hard to find now, i get mine from ulta though.

the nose strips just work for a day..but they reapear pretty soon

i try to cover them up with foundation...but it only makes them stand out more! they sort of gather the foundation and make my nose look diseased :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

well i used to have fairly bad acne, then i got tretinoin cream (off brand of Retina-A) and it works wonders for blackheads!! too bad it's only prescription.

one over-the-counter thing that is great is a blackhead clearing soap. i use one that is mainly for your back, but i use it on my face. it's excellent!

Good luck on finding something!

Damn. I think this is a topic dermatologists need to get working on since quite a few people cannot get rid of the little buggers.

I had terrible blackheads under my mouth and on my nose. I had read some things on BHA's (salicylic acid) and tried that alone - this did not work well. Had zits from hell. Then I found Paula Begoun the Cosmetics Cop. She suggests that you use a BHA and an anitbacterial (benzoyl peroxide) both. This cleared up my skin pretty quickly and got rid of almost all the blackheads. I have been using this system for about 8 months now and have had consistnatly clear, smooth, pretty blackhead free skin. Even if I do get a blackhead, it now comes out very easily. Paula Begoun has a couple of helpful, interesting books and a web site you might want to check out. Hope this helps

I actually tried useing Clean and Clear blackhead stuff but I had a really bad allergic reaction to it, skin started to bubble up in patches, so I started using raw honey, which worked wonderful in clearing them up and makeing my skin soo soft. Another thing I use now is Burts Bees tomato complexion bar and Castile soap. Tweezerman makes a blackhead remover tool that really works!!

oof. i have this exact same problem with blackheads and whiteheads and it's been there my entire life, makeup or no.

i need to try the honey thing and i have heard good things about asprin masks, but haven't tried that yet. prescription medications ahve always ended up tossing me over to the complete other end of the spectrum and it was like having permapeel form a bad sunburn :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
