Gah.  That aqua shift.  When I swatched the blush on my hand, the shimmer didn't show up *at all* in the spare room, and then when I went into the bathroom with different light, it just kind of *glowed*, and it took me a couple of seconds to register it as aqua.  It could have also been transfer from my hands since there was a smattering of the powders from the other jars all over the place.  I'm really looking forward to giving this a full-face try tomorrow!

Missed the raffle by six minutes. I am seriously unlucky ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />. I hope I have more luck getting in on some subs this month. What is the name of this aqua shift blush?

If it makes you feel better, it took me at least six months to get my first sub. Good luck!

Mine didn't come today & it still says out for delivery  <_< Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow!

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but one of my absolute favorite color combinations for my eyes is shimmery aqua on my lids and brown in the crease and as liner.  Boom.  Happy early birthday to me!  So excited to play with these colors!

This sub so far exceeded my expectations that I have been dancing around like a overly caffeinated squirrel...(even if my mail didn't show up till 5pm! *grumble grumble*)

Seriously, beautiful colors, beautiful design, excellent value and quality products.

Thank you "first day of winter classes" present in the mail! I can't wait for next month!!!

Also the fact that I live in OREGON and got mine today...is phenomenal.

The lip paint I put on before dinner and didn't budge while eating chicken Alfredo, salad and bread. Color me impressed as I have never tried DreamWorld Hermatica's lip products before. It feels very similar to NM lipcrafts but it just might have a longer wear.

@ When did yours actually get scanned by USPS? Mine was a Saturday package! I think it really helps that we're basically right by the main hub for the state.

You should always use a primer under shadows, indie or commercial.  Generally whatever primer you get the best results with will be fine with indie shadows too.  Some indie companies do make their own primer, but I love my NARS so much that I have never bothered to sample them.

There are two additional mediums that help with indie shadows.  The first is a type of a glitter glue.  This just helps the glitter from indies stick a little better.  Elf makes an inexpensive glitter glue, which will be the easiest to get (but is also my least favorite).  Other options are Pixie Epoxy from Fyrianne, Glitter Glue from Darling Girl or Glitter Fix from Glamour Doll Eyes.  I would not recommend Pixie Epoxy for anyone just starting with indie shadows as it is the hardest to blend with.  I have a slight personal preference for Glitter FIx over Glitter Glue, but both do a good job of keeping the glitter on, and still letting you blend a little.  When you apply the glitter glue you should wait a few seconds for it to get "tacky" before you put your shadows on.

Foiling mediums are the other good thing to have in your arsenal.  These are great at helping to pick up the shift in Duo-chromes, intensifying the color or using to mix with your shadow to make an eye liner.  These you can either apply directly to your eye and immediately put the shadow on top, or you can mix a tiny drop of the medium with your shadows on a clean surface (don't use the inside lid of your shadows, you don't want to introduce bacteria into the jar when you put the id back on).  I have a strong personal preference for Foil Me by Glamour Doll Eyes, but Superstar Serum by Darling Girl is another option.

Notoriously Morbid is also coming out with a prep product, they included a sample in my last order, but I have not tried it yet and can't remember if it was a glue or foiling medium.

The bad news is right now it is a little hard to get these products.  Glamour Doll Eyes is currently out of stock on both items (waiting for containers, should restock this month).  When they restock though, shipment is usually within 24 hours of your order being placed.  Darling Girl is currently closed, but should be reopening soon.  They have a super long turn around though.  It has been 4-6 weeks before they ship my orders.
Thank you for the detailed information. I use Lancome primer with my regular eye shadows. I do have oily skin and eye lids so primer is a must. I will look into glitter glue an foiling mediums. This will be something new and exciting to try with my new loose shadows. Thanks again for the great information.

Love everything!

I usually have a weird thing about eyeshadows in the realm of turquoise, but this one just looks so frosty and wintery that I can't wait to try it.  The blush looks fantastic swatched, and works well with the other colors.  I'm also pleasantly surprised with the lip gloss sample.  I want to go buy a full size, but I put myself on a $50/month non-sub makeup budget for the year, which I already spent at Darling Clandestine, and I'm not about to blow my budget only 6 days into the year!  They'll still sell lip gloss next month.  I must repeat this to myself.

Here, let me help you with that budget: I don't even see the lip stuff on the DH site! So you *can't* buy it even if you try!

Yep, her site is closed until "at least Feb 1".
I've got to say this: It frustrates me when a company does a guest appearance in a sub box but is closed when the box goes out. This is something like the fourth time this has happened, and it's a different company and sub each time. Here's why it's bad: I have the attention span of a goldfish. When I get my sub box, I get excited about the contents and want to go buy more right then and there. If I go to the shop and find it's closed, I'm not going to remember to go back when it's open.

I stayed away from this thread because I wanted mine to be a surprise and luckily my mail lady came early today! I love everything about this box! The colors are amazing and perfect for the season and I love how cohesive the theme is (the jar artwork, names, descriptions, candy!, etc.)  I cannot wait to see what they come up for next month!

Mine was scanned in on Sat too. :) Its so weird that I get Aromaleigh orders so fast when other East Coast companies take much longer, but I am certainly not complaining! haha.

Today I just HAD to put everything from this sub on my face. I did not put on the extra blush sample but GAH, everything is so pretty!!!
