Well since quitting accutane.... I was clear for about ooooooh 8 months... then I started breaking out again, ya figures blah!!! So then I started spot treating with tea tree oil....it worked decent but not great...So now I use tea tree oil, benzoyl peroxide at night, mositurizer sometimes during the day....and Queen Helen mint julep mask twice a week.. My skin is starting to clear up a bit but is this to many products you think???

Lets see I use coverfx creme foundation, Lise Watier Primer, Creme cleanser morning, deep cleanser at night (both Mary Kay), Benzoyl peroxide at night, Tea Tree oil spot treating.. Mint Julep mask twice a week... Eucerin mositurizer during the day.. So in total I use 8 products.. Is this to much, im a bit worried now....

In my opinion, I don't think it's too many

Some people use a lot more than that!

Hi

for "me" and its only a personal thing, that would be too many. Its just the kinda skin I have. I did exactly the same as you at one point and was using all sorts of lotions and potions. Probably about 6 or 7 different ones in a day and my skin was angry!

I cut them down and it definitely seemed to make it better. I have a friend too in England who has the most beautiful skin ever. She uses absolutely nothing. No moisturiser, washes with water. I just dont know how she does it. I wish I could

I really wish I could use nothing

, But I know if I used nothing my skin would get bad probably... Blah its so depressing. How the frickin heck did accutane not work!!!!!!!! Its suppose to be this all mighty drug and my skin is getting crap again, but its not terrible. BP seems to be working. But maybe I should cut out the moisturizer, and multi vitamin lotion and stuff... And maybe the tea tree oil that doesnt seem to help anymore.. I dunno..

Accutane is awesome but some people have to take it more than once. I did it 3 times. You should get back on it.

I don't think it's too many products. If it's working, then I say keep it up. Everybody's skin is different. I would stop only if irritation occurred.

If it's working, I'd leave it alone. At one time I wasn't using too many products, but TOO much of a certain product. My face was feeling even oilier, and once I started knocking back a little more on the products I was "over using," my face got better!

For me, that would be too much. currently I use only 4 products. Dial antibacterial soap, Aveeno daily moisturizer with spf 15 [liking it so far] at night i moisturize with nivea soft, and I have a cocoa butter stick i apply to lighten up my scars. If you feel like its too much, cut back on the products that arent giving you PERFECT results and stick to the ones you have the most satisfactory results...But remember, its all about what you want/feel and what is good for you.

i use the bare minimum amount of products so for me that is too much but if it works for you who cares?

I don't think its necessarily too much but I'm not sure if its good to use the tea tree and the BP. It might be too drying and cause your skin to produce more oil.

Some people use a lot more than that! i agree!

Alright thanks everyone. Ya it seems to be working good for me so I think I am just going to keep on what I am doing. And also Angie believe me I would go back on accutane but its getting to bad for me. I also have been on it a few times... Off and On but its screwed up my back tons, and just hurt my physically. There is no way I want to go back on it again I dont think. Plus my face isnt bad enough to go on it... I am just going to stick to what I am doing for now.

It looks like you might have a few duplicate items. If you're using BP you might want to cut out the tea tree oil. And why primer and foundation? I know a lot of people do it, but I found that it is too heavy for everyday wear and clogged my pores too much.

You most certainly want to keep the moisturizer. Acne treatments will dry your skin, and acne will heal faster if your skin is moisturized. Just use it sparingly. You might also want to think about using yoru scrub on a daily basis. Using the Queen Helene Mint Julep scrub every night makes a HUGE difference in my skin. I swear it is the only thing that keeps my acne away. You might also want to consider using BP as a prevantative treatment all over problem areas rather than a spot treatment. The BP will dry your skin, but once you get your acne under control you should be able to go back to only using it as spot treatment.

Thanks for the great advice. But I do use bp all oveer my face actually now. I just use it at night and not during the day. If I used it during the day omg it would take me hrs to get ready haha. Like I have no time as it is to get ready and get to work let alone if I had to do the regimen in the morning.
Also I really wish I didnt have to use primer and makeup, but accutane messed up my pores. It like opened them and made them all huge

its gross and disgusts me, so primer and a thick creme is the only thing that makse them invisible....they arent completely but TONS better. I will never use anythingels unless there is some special powder out there that can make pores invisible. But I know what you mean... I am going to cut out the tea tree oil for sure. Also is the mint julep scrub the same as the mask?? Or are they 2 different products?? Thanks for the advice though

If that is keeping your skin looking good, then don't change a thing! Everyone reacts differently to products, some need more some less. I am pretty basic, but I have sensitive skin. I use Clean and Clear makeup removing cleanser, or Cetaphil and a moisturizer and that is it.
