Hello!

I recently developed an allergic reaction while wearing Revlon's Nearly Naked foundation.  I broke out into tiny red itchy bumps all over my forehead, under my eyebrows, and around my mouth.  I didn't put primer on those areas.  I've been putting Cortizone-10 on the rash and am using Cetaphil Gentle cleanser.  I'm also taking a break from wearing makeup, which is double awful because it's no fun and because I can't cover it up at all.

Has anyone had a reaction similar to this?  Does anyone know of any tips or remedies to help clear it up faster?

I have the same reaction to Revlon Colorstay. I wash the makeup off and do a second washing with Cetaphil just to be safe and allow my skin to breathe. Its gone in 24 hours or less for me.

Hmm..it started last night and has barely improved today...Bummer.  Glad to know I'm not the only one, but sorry you experienced the same thing!

I've had similar reactions using different foundations and skincare products. Give it a few days and check the ingredient list with whatever you were using before. It might help you narrow down what you reacted to.

I have that same reaction to makeup or anything I put on my face that has an spf over 15. It's a chemical burn, feels like a sunburn except it happens moments after I apply it.

Thanks!  Yeah I've started making a chart comparing the ingredients in what works and what doesn't.  A little excessive maybe but this isn't fun haha

Carmela - Thanks for the info...I never thought about the spf.  Both of the foundations I used that I reacted to had spf of 15-20.  Guess I need to look into that.

More spf isn't good for people with darker skin tones. I'm a light medium but I don't sunburn. I've noticed my skin reacts badly to any spf over 30 so my face is even more sensitive. I prefer to buy products without spf. I wasn't raised with the habit that I must always put sunscreen so I rarely ever do.

Since I've had this horrible experience happen, I know that as soon as my face feels hot, I having a bad reaction to the spf. I wash it off immediately, apply my ren hydro calm day cream and just put on my makeup all over again with a dif foundation.
