What is an affordable brand of brushes that are good quality and will last a long time? How do you take care of your brushes? I usually just take the hair out of them and go. But do you wash them in warm water or something? Thanks!

EOB (essence of beauty) found at CVS drug stores are very nice!

i wash mine in warm water and baby shampoo

I agreee, all but one of my brushes are Essence of Beauty brand. I cleanse them with Clinique toner that I found to be too harsh for my skin.

i have a brush from a company called Bass. its all wood and i love it. cost me like $8 at the health food store.

What little I've read on this, the best brushes for your hair are ones with natural boar bristles. Apparently they disperse your natural oils throughout your hair and doesn't pull or snap your hair like synthetic bristles do. I'm pretty sure they sell them everywhere (even WalMart), but I bought mine in a beauty supply store for about $9. I think the denser brushes are good for thin hair and vice versa. I wash mine with my regular shampoo in luke warm water.

Hope that helps a bit!

I agree! Boar brushes are the best for your hair. U can get all boar or a combination of boar and plastic, which is also very good.
