Hi ! In response to your Accutane question, Yes they are banning it.  If you are on it or know other people on it please advise them to get off of it. I can let you talk with a mother of twins who has had major side effects from it.  I do work with the Doctors who created Proactiv and we have been switching people over to our advanced brand call Unblemish which is for the more advanced cystic type acne. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best, Lisa <3

I was on accutane in 2007 and I don't have any side effects (but my dose was only 20mg it's probably different for people who get like 60mg). In 2006 I used Proactiv and my skin went wild with cysts when I stopped using it (I have scars from it) so I had to go on accutane year later! It's not the same for everyone.

I use cleansing milk from Omorovicza since it's milder and does not irritate my skin.  I also use a toner that has salicylic acid from Pond's.

I use Cetaphil and I have really bad acne, just using their facial cleanser and moisturizer is enough for me, and it costs less than anything at Sephora.

hello!!!!!!!!! you seem to be pretty desperate. whith so many acne products your using make sure to use a good moizturiser beacuse acne products dry out the skin, which will make your acne ever worse!! first off...NETROGENA SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! every time i use it i seem t break out even more no matter how many chances i give it. >.< hmmm...iv herd really bad things about proactive... its suppose to work while your using it, but it gets worse or it will come back if you stop.  iv always had acne ever since i remember. and iv experimented  A LOT!!!!!!! iv tried many things and found that these work wonders. =D

1. exfoliate your skin 2-3 times a week, this gets rid of all the junk, dirt and sebum inside your pores.

2. green tea facial masks, green tea helps calm those HUGE PAINFUL bumps and helps rejuvenate and moisturize the skin

3. tea tree oil, it works great for acne! try buying acne products with this major ingredient involved!

4. aspirin- its an anti inflammatory, which will make your bumps and redness go away. but dont pop a pill everytime you get a pimple, emergencies only!

*********************Hydrogen peroxide!!!!!!!!!!************************************************

hydrogen peroxide...what it does is kill the bacteria and disinfects the skin, you can dab some on your skin with a cotton ball up to 3 times a day. and no its not harmfull to the skin, one of the most active ingredients is purified water. its completely safe, or else one wouldn't put it in there mouths. =/  but i dont recommended you to use it longer than a week. skip a week or two and start using it again. i use it regularly, but thats just my skin.

if you have major acne, i sugest you skip foundation and move to a tinted moisturizer. foundation can make acne worse beacuse of all the oil and stuff. or if you really..REALLY have to use foundation use a water based foundation. =D hope it helps!

I found my miracle product in benzoyl peroxide. I used to think I would be sixty years old with acne. Now I don't have oily skin, large pores, or acne anymore. I use the acnefree 5% benzoyl peroxide all over my face in the morning and at night. At first it was drying but it was a huge step up from acne. I also use lemon juice for the old scars.

OH boy. I tried it all as I suffered big time + I was a chronic face picker ( couldn't stop scratching my skin ).

I remember it used to be so bad, I couldn't go to school. It was so awful I had to get back on anti-depressants.

Birth control, antidepressants + I've been on antibiotics for years.... because nothing topical seemed to help. for me, acne is hormonal/internal!

I had to be on and off antibiotics until my stomach hurt like hell! Then I stopped completely and got on Diane-35. Which gave me the worst depression ever! Not to mention cysts all over my face.

I switched from Diane 35 to - tricyclen-lo and it really helps! except for one week when I'm menstruating. I always break out.

Another thing that helps - eating apples, fresh fruits and exercising 3-4 times a week.

I just hope I didn't damage my liver.

PS. never take accutane! oh god... it can kill you. + makes your skin bleed.

Here's my experience with accutane (roaccutane) in 2007. I can't speak about people who were prescribed high dosages like 70 mg per day but I was taking only 20 mg the 1st month and 10 mg next months and later 10 mg every few days. I had absolutely no problems apart from dry skin (which wasn't a big problem because my derm gave me a very good cream and as long as I used it, my skin was well hydrated). I was 100% clear within 3 months or even less. You are not allowed to drink alcohol, get pregnant or sunbathe while on accutane and I had no problem avoiding all that. Nothing else helped me get rid of those many crazy cysts! My face looked so awful and I still have some scars from that time and I'm glad I took accutane. I still get cysts and pimples occasionally but it's nowhere near as bad as it was back then. I would do another course but my acne isn't bad enough lol

I think some people get prescribed too high dosages and maybe that's what gives them really bad side effects. My derm was very careful about me.

This. I've had a couple of friends and family members go on Accutane (I don't think it's banned here in Canada?) and all had positive results. I don't know what dosage they were on, but when it's absolutely impossible to shave for a man who has cystic breakouts along the jawline and neck, it's a little much to say Accutane shouldn't be an option.
