help me! ... in the last year or so ive started getting pimples every here and there on my back and its driving me crazy!.. at first i thought maybe it was from my hair (had really long hair down to my back) but i cut it now hoping it will help.. or maybe it could be from wearing a bra ? cause the pimples usually popped up in the areas the bra covered on my back and by the shoulder straps and stuff... anyway now ive mostly just got a ton of acne scars on my back and i dont know how to get rid of it, its so ugly.. anyone know how to treat/prevent this kind of stuff ??

Get a back brush and use a cleanser specially formulated for back acne. Or you could even use a regular body wash=)

you could just use a cheap acne wash and use that on your back.

i have this stuff called panoxy 10. it works great its a big bar (about $6) but lasts awhile and keeps zits at bay.

note: if you have colored scrubby gloves beware they bleach them out (my green ones turned this nice mustard yellow now).

Try white vinegar. No joke! It really works. My kids would get acne on their backs and upper legs when they played baseball and the Dr. told us to use vinegar. We applied with a cotton ball.

when i was a teen i used to get 'backne', i remember a few years after i suffered through reaching around to scrub my back that OXY started making large medicated acne pads made for scrubbing areas larger than just the face....i think they still make them?

what i used to do was take a back brush and load it up with my acne wash and my mom would put benzol peroxide cream all over...for me it was definately hormonal related breakouts

Have you tried Neutrogena Body Clear Body Wash (and I think there is a scrub)? I've never tried it, but I've heard some good things.

Try to lay off high acid foods. you dont just want to treat the problem and then it comes back.

I have heard that Neutrogena body wash is effective - I think it has salicytic acid.

Oxy has good ratings for over the counter products.

I am going to advice against using sponges, clothes, gloves unless they are thrown in the wash after EVERY TIME they are used. Bacteria can build up on the material very easily and then be transferred to your back. This is exactly what you don't want to happen.

I have the same problem but on my arms. I've been using Neutrogena Acne Oil-Free Wash, but I don't think it helps much. I'm going to try the vinegar, thanks EarlyPrim.

i should try the vinegar. i use my face wash (i mostly have acne scars on my shoulders). i even tried tea tree oil, effective but my skin doesn't like it much. i also wear sunscreen and of course i always wear tee shirts to protect my shoulders, not those tops with thin straps.

i used a back scrub before and i applied baby powder on it, just so it'll absorb sweat or something. it didn't clear up immediately but it prevented it somehow.

my bra straps usually aggrave my bacne...

use a cleanser with aha acids or salicylic acids (you can usually get specially formulated back washes)

keep the area clean and dry as much as possible

keep up the water intake and vitamins!!!

apply benzoyl peroxide to individual spots

and a little sun (a LITTLE) helps dry up juicy ones!!!

thats for all the tips

My boyfriend has bacne and I got him a bacne spray from mark. WHEN he actually uses it, it works good! I'm not sure if its available right now but there are similar products you can find at the drugstore like the other girls mentioned

good advice! Though benzoyl peroxide will bleach clothes!!

I'm working up an aspirin mask with aloe, honey, vitamins and, of course, aspirin for my teenage son. I've heard great things about them in treating acne and bacne. I'm ordering it from Dream Products in Plymouth,, MI. I am trying to get my son to agree to let me apply it for him.

For more info on how to use, apply and so forth, see the aspirin mask review on makeupalley.com. Everyone swears by it's power to shrink zits and lessen redness. And, it clears blackheads they claim.

I'll know next weekend when I attempt to bribe him to let me use it on him.

i have been using the neutrogena acne wash body wash and one bottle can last me for half a year, i preffer the gritted one cause it efolliates.

any way i just use that with a really really soft back brush *so i dont irritate my skin to much

and that got rid of most of it. every once in a while i do get a zit but not enough to make me get really angry about it

i have had the same prob i still got very slight mark on mt back but theyare almost gone. but what i did was to brush my back with normal showerball~!! just shower everyday brush hard BUT NOT TOO HARD . i used it for a week or so the marks almost all faded away!!! make sure u shower everyday coz its summer now!!!

It sounds strange, but several people on acne.org wrote that they had gotten rid of bacne by using Head & Shoulders (the shampoo). It contains zinc and should help when being applied for several minutes and afterwards washed away.

For me, it's definately worth a try.
