I have some acne scarring that I wanted to get rid of that I've had since my early teens. I'm now in my early 20's and no longer breakout. So I ordered some TCA and did an at home TCA peel using 25% strength. I ordered it off eBay. And also purchased some other things at my local Walmart to complete it. Here is a list of items I bought:
91% Isotropic Alcohol
Cetaphil Lotion
Cetaphil Cream Cleanser
Baking Soda
Gauze Pads
Gloves
Sunscreen
Neosporin
Vaseline
I began by prepping my skin. First used the cetaphil cleanser to wash my face. Then took a gauze pad and and wiped my faced using the alcohol. This is done to allow even penetration of the TCA. Then I proceded to apply vaseline to my lips, nostrils and around my eyes. Pretty much any sensitive areas you don't want the chemical to reach.
I already had my solution of 25% TCA prepped. Then I put the gloves on and grabbed a gauze and dipped it in the solution. You don't want the gauze to be dripping, just moist. I began at my forehead and started to work my way down. I left the first layer on for 3 mins and then applied a second layer. The second layer was left one for another 4 mins. My face began to burn and frost. I honestly couldn't stand it any longer so I neutralized the TCA using baking soda and water. You can mix one part baking soda and 4 parts water to create a neutralizer.
I then let my face cool for a bit and cleansed everything off once again using the Cetaphil cleanser. I then applied Neosporin and Cetaphil lotion. This is my face about 20 mins after the peel.
The reason I used Cetaphil is because they recommend using a cleanser/lotion that is free of fragrances and dyes while you heal. I will post daily and let you guys know of my results.
You also want to use the sunscreen for the next few weeks whenever you go outside.
