As I mentioned, most perfumes trigger migraines for me and so I tend to avoid using perfumes. Another reason I avoid perfumes is due to the body washes and lotions I use that tend to contain fragrances and so on a normal day I simply don't wear perfume. When I saw this item among the products sent me I was hesitant in using it so instead of spraying myself with it I sprayed a piece of paper and immediately the scent of it was familiar and for a brief second I had a feeling of déjà vu. I sprayed my wrists and the scent was so hauntingly familiar to me but I couldn't place where I have smelled this before but eventually I realized that it reminded me of something from my childhood.
The more I smell Monoï Eau des Vahinés Eau de toilette the more memories of my childhood come back to me. I remember that when my mother was younger she had a green thumb and how she use to grow many different flowers and plants both in her garden and indoors. Among the flowers she grew inside were Gardenias and Jasmines. I use to love how our house smelled when the Gardenias and Jasmines bloomed. I remember the Birds of Paradise she grew, the orchids and so many other tropical plants. It's funny how the more I smell this perfume the more happy childhood memories that I have nearly forgotten have returned.
I'm not a perfume expert or a perfume blogger so I can't tell you about notes or styles or give you a better description of the fragrance. The Yves Rocher website states that it is "Floral-Exotic-Sensual" which is the style and I know notes typically refers to what it smells like and how it continues to smell like after it begins to evaporate but again I'm not typically a perfume wearer so I can't describe it better. I can smell the vanilla but in this perfume it's more rich and warm rather than the vanilla in a cupcake. I can smell the Gardenia in it and I can tell you that this perfume makes me happy.
Would I buy this? Absolutely. I will be ordering a couple more bottles as it's now on sale on Yves Rocher's website for $17.60 (original price $32) 3.3 fl.oz. Spray / 100 ml.
